Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 discussion thread

First gig with my 9.0 last night. Outdoor gig, and I ran it through a strange cabinet combination of an Avatar 210 and an Eden 210XST (each one of those has a twin that it usually runs with separately, but both twins happen to be on the fritz right now). The Avatar was on top, mainly because it is a little shallower cabinet.

Initial impressions - serious low end, not nearly as much midrange presence as my Markbass F1 (and I was looking for a little less, so that is OK), and a much sweeter, airier high end. Less growly, although I was trying to run it clean. Excellent slap tone, although the amp doesn't punch through a mix quite like the F1 does (see midrange comment above). This is the tone I was after in buying this amp, for sure.

I ran it pretty much flat, although the sound tech had an aversion to 100hz and convinced me to cut my low mids a little, which probably made it punch even less. I can actually see myself bumping the upper mids just a little on this amp, with the cabinet combination I use. I sort of wish I had a chance to hear it with the Berg AE410 I used to have; I bet that would sound hot!

On the whole, I very much liked the tone. I look forward to running it next time with both 210XSTs.
