Well, I like alot of those lows, so I'm thinking the cab just isn't hanging lol as for lowering the gain and increasing the master.... tried it. Still will have a point of break up.

If you can afford it, I'd consider the Uber 410, Uber 212 stack. Both are efficient (103dB/102dB), not too heavy for the sound they put out (72lb/63lb), and designed to work well together and with the Shuttle Max voicing. Invalid Link Removed
My rig for the past year has been a Shuttle Max 12.0 and 4 ohm Uber 212 which covers my gigs quite well but for larger or outdoor venues I added an 8 ohm 15/6/1 cab. Turning this past noon on the master with a hot pre gain is ridiculous and the lows are solid with no farting out.

Do you mean 212 or 410?
I have a 112 NEO and It works great. I too am curious what you all think about using the GB 9.0 with Avatars. I cant afford Uber but I am gassing for the new Avatar 15-6-1 coming out and their 212.
I know David Meissner digs the LDS 15-6-1s. I suspect the 15s will give you allot of lows.

I only had my 9.0 for a very short time but loved the tone. As my own rule of thumb I usually only run the amp filters at lower volumes and try to run it without filters and maybe add some slight EQ when I am running louder. I mean the filters have to be adding some boost to some frequency, so in essence it is eq'd. If you really love the low end and you need it on stage or do not have PA support that can add some low end oomph then that could be a problem if the filter is pushing the cab to hard. Try it in the mix without the LF or HF engaged and try adding some slight bass boost on the eq or your bass and see if that helps.
This is possible, I might feel weird plugging in in the middle of your gigs set but would like to hear the avatars. Do you like them allot with this head?

Do, do yall think that running this cab over the SVT610HLF would be more powerful? The ratings say yes... but just wondering if it really would.

You guys raised my curiosity. So last night I took an Epi UL2-410 4 ohm and a UL2-212 4 ohm, set them side by side on stage for an A/B. I started on the 212 went to the 410 for one song and right back to the UL2-212. Man there was something so smooth, warm and elastic going on with this pairing. I've been a 10s guy forever but there is some low-mid magic in the 9.0 with 12s. I should say I was using a passive PJ that became an aggressive tone monster through this coupling.
Playing through my 9.0 just makes me smile all night... right through load-out!

So volume wise did the two 12s keep up with the 410?

Had plenty of volume for sure, master at 10 oclock. The 410 will go louder, stupid loud. Used it again (9.0/UL212) tonight on an outdoor gig... sweet and smooth! Not as aggressive as a 410 but richer.
As much gear as I have played on, I have never played on 12s. I'm right in the middle of selling my US SVT610 and buying a GS412. I haven't got a chance to play on it yet, but how well do the 12 respond to modern rock type?
The band that I'm in is on the edge of being considered "metal" but more just a modern rock mix and through some of drive of Muse and you got what I shoot for live. Anyways, I'm trying to make sure that if I get rid of my SVT610 that it wont be a mistake

A 4x12 will give you serious low end, especially the GS412. Aguilars 12s have a nice punch, more do in the DB series.
IMO, 12s provide great low mids with enough high end for 95% of players.

Unsure...the head just arrived and I haven't plugged it in yet. Generally the Avatars are fine with whatever I use them with. They were a very good match to the iAmp 800 I used to have, and more recently a fine match with my LMII. Somewhat less good with the Markbass F1, but still fine. The Avatars, especially the 210, are very neutral cabinets from what I can tell.
Hey all, is it possible an Uber 410 would sound louder that both my Ampeg 410 and avatar 112 together?
