i played an uber410 today for the first time....
it has everything i like from top to bottom as well as a perfect low mid grunt that has muscle to it... had great clarity too..

Back on the "direct vs daisy chain" question just to make sure I understand.
Say I have two separate 8 ohm cabinets. If I connect them serially (daisy chain them) using one output from the Shuttle 9.0 this would result in a 4 ohm load on the amp.
If, instead of daisy chaining, say I use both outputs from the amp to run two separate Speakon cables, one to each cabinet. This would also result in a 4 ohm load -- essentially the setup would perform the same way in either case.
Am I right?

Technically that would be parallel not serial.
Yes to your questions with this stipulation, but why add more connectors and extra cable length to the signal chain. For me it's always the past of least resistance, the most direct route.
You're welcome to stop by and play through the rig between sets sometime, if you like. One of my Edens is getting new speakers in the shop, so I'm likely to have the Avatars on the July 9th show at Rock Bottom. We have Cervantes on August 28th. Nothing in between right now, though I'm sure something will crop up.I'm interested to see what you think of your cabs with the 9.0. I am in the market for a new cab. I decided to wait for Avatars new 3 way 15-6-tweeter 8ohm cab and passed on their great 4ohm prototype deal. I'm still open for other ideas but can not afford a new GB Uber
...maybe a used Uber will pop up around denver, fingers crossed!

Just got it, wow, feels like home but warmer, more comfortable and ummmmmm yummy!
Off to rehearsal, will do a bit of ABing between RH450 and GB 9.0. But it is sort of like comparing Lobster to prime rib.

Yes.. I played an uber410 for the first time yesterday.. it was the best cab in the store.. did an AB with a mesa 410.. but the mesa farted out just as the Uber was starting to breathe... th euber was wider, growlier, more focused and didnt fart out.. i was using a Shuttle 12..
The Uber 410 would be great for me but i need portability for my local gigs do the Uber210 is the way for me.. X 2 .. but im doing a gig that requires a big cab and the have a crew so i will debate the 810 idea too... just some stuff on the plate... I do tend to drag my feet at times...
Its the first time i have had a chance to play the uber.. and it has the goodness of what i liked about the old SVT style cabs.. not the tilt back ones with muddy speakers...but the old rectangle shaped ones that had great presence and punch.. the uber has a nice controlled palette and some nice bottom....The uber really was impressive!

Guess I need to buy a converter for these situations. Anyone upgrade the speakon jacks on these with the Markbass TC style jack with the hybrid 1/4" - speakon conector?

I wouldn't consider that an "upgrade". Their is a potential shock hazard when using 1/4" plugs, which is why we don't use the hybrid jacks.
Good to know, Ill just look for a speakon -> 1/4" next time at a shop and leave it in my GB bag.
I got to plug in loud durring lunch at my drummers house. I got the 9.0 for HiFi thirst but this pup can get mighty warm too. And loud.

So whatcha think having the shuttle 9.0 replace my Peavey VB-2 on my SVT610?
I play large venues and honestly the tube life is wearing out my back! haha.... yes... age is catching up! haha
For modern rock/metal, would the shuttle 9.0 hang with volume and sound with the 200w-300w all tubers?

I get SVTs as backline now and then, and of all the great things I could say about them, I wouldn't call them loud. To my ears, and some of it may be because of voicing, either my Markbass F1 or the Markbass LMII I just sold would seem louder, all else constant. Although it wouldn't be possible to dial in any dirt with either of those, which is where the 9.0 comes in.
