Genz Benz Streamliner Part 3!!!!

So has anyone who placed an order through Ye Olde Music gotten theirs yet? It's almost been 2 weeks since I ordered and I'm still without an amp.

Did you confirm that they have any in stock? I spoke with Jong from Jive Sound a couple of days ago about the SL's, and he said they're back-ordered a couple of months. I don't have any experience with Ye Olde Music, so I don't know how they do business, but it could be they sold you an amp from their next shipment, which may not be for some time.

Basically, you should call them and ask.

Lucky you at only 2 weeks in... Next week will be 4 weeks for me at YOMS...

Still holding on, no head either as I sold my GBE1200 to make room and funds for it.

FWIW, we aren't backordered a couple of months. We're making two shipments (albeit small ones) a week.

At this point, any dealer that has these on order as of now, will see them in less than two weeks.

Well my STM-900 arrived today, and I must say, the packaging was first rate. Right out of the box, you can feel the quality of this amp. Genz has really hit a home run!
I can only use some over the ear headphones for now, and this amp gets ALMOST as clean as my Shuttle 6 with the gain off. Push the gain and WOW, you're in a whole new galaxy. Still has the definition, but with a nice round bottom warmth.

I can't wait to try this baby with my incoming Uber Quad. :hyper:

Are these orders processed as first come, first received by your warehouse?

I'm getting very close to turning my back on GB and looking elsewhere. There's simply too many other options out there for all of to put our eggs in one basket regardless of how great this model is suppose to be.

Seems to me like GB was/is not ready for the release.

Well... to be fair, he has a specific complaint about shipments vs order times seeming to be out of whack... it's not like he's just randomly dropping a bomb on the thread to stir up a problem (which is more typical of a troll post). Look at his earlier post. Just sayin'.

I'm about ready to place my GB cabs (410T-XB2 and NeoX-212T) out at the street. Or at least de-badge them... If the first option, I'll let you know when to pick them up...

Will you give me 3 days notice? :smug:

Also, I got a voicemail from Mike that said they had a shipment heading their way. Considering the distance I have a feeling I'll be adding another week to my wait time.

Awfully bitter there... maybe the shop you purchased from wasn't entirely forthcoming about how many people were in line in front of you, esp. if said shop is knwon to sell for a rather low price. 4 weeks sucks, but it's not like Genz is a ginormous company and it's not like the Streamliner was part of a HUGE national promotion and hype campaign. I'd be willing to bet that the response has been greater than anticipated.

Really? It seems YOMS underestimated the amount of orders they would receive as Genz has been shipping consistently (AFAIK) since release. If YOMS didn't order enough heads to cover the orders they were getting is that the fault of Genz? Also, Genz is one of the few companies whose products are ready for shipping or at least fulfilling orders when they officially release a product as opposed to companies who announce a product and then a year later might take a prototype to NAMM...

It seems like heads ordered 4 weeks ago from other dealers have gotten out, and are being gigged sans a few, even through a winter storm. Just sayin. .

Did you order from a shop that gave the lowest price, or one that actually has a proven track record of great customer service?

I bought mine from Rocket Music, and got it exactly when I was told I would. And wasn't charged for it until it shipped.

Not GB's fault - imho the issue is with the dealer who low balls and the customer who shops based on price alone.

I agree. My dealer delivered exactly when he said he would. I wonder if the hype on this particular dealer, based solely on discount, put the dealer in a position it didn't know how to handle.

Gotta agree with this.
Don't fault the mfg for a seller who offers a superdiscount, then gets overwhelmed by orders.
And don't fault the mfg for not rushing to bail said seller out at the expense of their other vendors.

PS - put me as another happy guy who ordered from Rocket, got a good deal (if not "outrageously low low low! price"), and got my amp exactly when I was told I would. And have been happily gigging and recording with it.

Nostatic put it well earlier in the thread - it's worth paying a bit more for great service.
