Any word from YOMS? Did they get their shipment in?
It seems like the MB Fusion from Gallien Krueger would possibly be worth comparing, but from what I've heard those still have the GK "SS" bite to them. Definitely a big step towards a warmer sound, but to my ear still unmistakably GK.
I'm thinking that this amp might make a great DB amp because of those deep lows. I play guts/obligatos on my DB, and I really want lots of deep, round, tone with plenty of thump. Think Bob Moore, Junior Husky, etc. I'm curious how a HPF would benefit with this amp. Your thoughts?
I have no questions at all that this amp would be a great match for my P Bass and my Ibanez. Plus, it's much more portable than a rack-mounted Peavey Tour 700 (which needs to stay in the band trailer with my Dietz 1x15 and SWR 4x10 for the roadies to carry).
For those that would like to know the Streamliner 900 works superb with Upright Bass.
I never leave home without my Fdeck. I used my Liner with my UB the other day. I set the amp flat and used my Fdeck to tailor the lowend for my cab/tastes.
I suppose I could try it without the Fdeck. I'm confident it would work well. I just Velcro my Fdeck to my Bass tail piece and it makes it much easier for me to control the low end without running back to my amp.
FWIW I use a carved top Wilfur with a Realist PUP.
