You guys are killing me.
This is my tone for sure. As someone said Ampeg, meets SA200.
I'm gassing so hard for this amp.
Nobody has any in stock.
I'm thinking of a AE212, or a Schroder vertical 2x15 with this amp.
I want to run this with a 4ohm cab and let it rip.

god i want one of these :crying:

but i also want some smooth chrome wheels for my fatboy

hmmm,, gots a 9.0 & a MB500, so i'm covered amp wise

so, new wheels it is :hyper::hyper::hyper:

BUT,,

i'll be lurking in the classifieds, & it won't take long for the guys there at Genz to drop the BBD that makes the old Streamliner look like yesterdays chopped liver,, & i'll score

hahaha :smug:

It seems like the MB Fusion from Gallien Krueger would possibly be worth comparing, but from what I've heard those still have the GK "SS" bite to them. Definitely a big step towards a warmer sound, but to my ear still unmistakably GK.

I live to serve - from another thread:

ok, for those that are gluttons for punishment, here are live tracks from two sets tonight (well, now last night). First set was the S900, second was the MB Fusion. Basses are Rob Allen Deep 5, Roscoe C5 fretless, and P-bass. Cab was Berg AE210. FEA Labs dual band comp but not to heavily used. I think I got the basses listed in the right order.

S900 bass at 11:00, mid at 1:00, treble at 1:00

fwiw I have the Fusion up for sale in the classifieds. Nice head, but I'm going all GB with S900 and a Shuttle 9.0.

I'm thinking that this amp might make a great DB amp because of those deep lows. I play guts/obligatos on my DB, and I really want lots of deep, round, tone with plenty of thump. Think Bob Moore, Junior Husky, etc. I'm curious how a HPF would benefit with this amp. Your thoughts?

I have no questions at all that this amp would be a great match for my P Bass and my Ibanez. Plus, it's much more portable than a rack-mounted Peavey Tour 700 (which needs to stay in the band trailer with my Dietz 1x15 and SWR 4x10 for the roadies to carry).

As much as I like big lows, I usually have to attenuate the deep bass because it incites feedback.

For those that would like to know the Streamliner 900 works superb with Upright Bass.

I never leave home without my Fdeck. I used my Liner with my UB the other day. I set the amp flat and used my Fdeck to tailor the lowend for my cab/tastes.

I suppose I could try it without the Fdeck. I'm confident it would work well. I just Velcro my Fdeck to my Bass tail piece and it makes it much easier for me to control the low end without running back to my amp.

FWIW I use a carved top Wilfur with a Realist PUP.

Good to hear!

Yep - they came in today :hyper:

The painful waiting, that is.

Anybody be able to comment on how a Streamliner would sound vs a Bmax Tube or VT Bass Deluxe pedal? I know this is a VERY odd comparison but go ahead & give it a shot. I watched Kens videos & really want the smooth round D & G string to tame my Sterling. Modern GK, LM III, Shuttle won't work for me

Are you running heavy EQ amounts on your sterling. Im just saying because people that have that issue with a Musicman tend to run the EQs on the bass real hot and dimed .. Ive been playing stingrays and the likes since 1977.. I know them and their incarnations well.
The D and G should be smooth as the rest of the strings such as the E and A... at least thats the case with my sterling . Could also be a Pickup adjustment issue

Anyway, the Streamliner is not like the GK at all. .or the Markbass... It is warmer with a smooth silky top end and has an extended low voice.. It does not have that spiky top that the MB or GK has when cranked.
It seems punchier than my shuttle 9.. and the EQ when set at 12:00 is different than the Shuttle... The Streamliner is more tube amp sounding.
Think instead of a nice tube amp like a Sadowsky SA200.. Full, round great definition with sheen on top... Like a well made Latte'.

The VT bass is an SVT sim.. This amp is not a Sim. it just does what it does very well.. Maybe a 3 trick pony.. but those tricks are all so good...

Thats why I'm shying away from GK & MB towards the Streamliner OR BMax Tube OR VT bass with my idle poweramp.
The TC 450 was close enough to the streamliner... if I could get the Bmax T or VT bass close I would go that way, if not... Streamliner it is.

The VT has some sort of compression going on with it... I used it a few times on sessions where i could see the VU meters and when it was engaged it was DEF compressing in a way.. Cool device.. But maybe that is what you are liking about the VT..
I think i have found the sweet spot on my SL900 that can do the same .. More giggage today then a road trip with it tomorrow..

I'm diggin' the SL600 with my passive j-bass. I thought my Puma 1000 was warm, but the SL600 is warmer. LOL I don't have the ears like Kjung & Svtb15, but I'm happy with it. Can't wait to hear it with my LowEnd LEJ5 and Alleva Coppolo LG5. That will be awhile on both. LOL
