OK, I've spent pretty much ALL DAY going back and forth with these suckers. Again:
(1) GK Neo 212 II - 4 ohm
(1) GK Neo 212 II - 8 ohm
(1) GK Neo 112 - 8 ohm
(1) Mighty Streamliner 900
I was trying to decide on what scenario to run with. I wanted to either run just the 4 ohm 212 OR the 212 and 112 together (I know, I know...)
A/B'ing the (2) 212's back and forth the 4 ohm (just as KJung nailed) sounded deeper, fuller, brighter..just better.
What I really think was happening at first was the db drop was playing tricks with my ears. Once I compensated more throughout the day the two cabs do in fact sound very similar. Identical? Not quite.
When I first ran the 112 and 212 (8 ohm) together I had the 112 on top of the 212. It just sounded harsh. I contacted the previous owner and he mentioned it wasn't even broken in. After playing it ALL day AND setting it on the floor next to the 212, the rig is singing now!
Soooo, now I have my perfect rig (for me). I'm going to run the 212 and 112 at practice (we play loud) and just tote the 112 back and forth for home use. The 4 ohm, even though it sounds GREAT, will probably go for sale.
Thanks everyone for all the help in the thread and through pm's. I'm learning a lot. I've just never had this much power on tap before.
