Genz Benz Streamliner; Part 4

Wasn't overlooking them, but its the same issue, the NEOX
212 is 600W at 4 ohm, same as the Berg, is that not too
little? I've never had to do this cabinet matching stuff so
forgive my inexperience

Oh, I see the UB 410 and quad can be 8 ohm, that would
work.

There shouldn't be any problem as long as you don't go EQ-crazy, don't beat the heck out of your bass with everything max'd, and do listen to your cab (well designed cabs will let you know sonically that they are being overdriven before they are damaged as long as the limits are approached gradually).

The 4ohm Uber 410 will work great as well.
Uber Quad is 8ohm only AFAIK.

Im curious if anyone has sent Genz Benz a picture of the dreaded "hole in the box". Not sure if its always in the same spot, but working for a major fireplace builder in the country we send "kits" inside our units and some are molded panels and have a history of breaking in shipment. Maybe the packaging engineers at genz benz could use some of these pictures to design a better box. While nothing is break/tear resistant, mabye there is something they can fix? just a thought from the couch.

Looked like a bullet hole initially... But, no damage to anything so I'd have to say the box design worked pretty well.

12au7/RCA 5814A in V1.
Mullard ECC83 Long Plate in V2
Blackburn Tech Tube E813CC in V3.

I just found a note I wrote to myself regarding someone switching tubes to the ones I listed above.

Not that I think it needs it as it's already pretty damn clean sounding, but I'm a clean sound guy and wondered if this made any massive differences for a clean sound.

Again, I'm as giddy as a school girl with her first boyfriend with this thing right now.

That is my recipe. The 5814a in V1 drastically changes the gain structure. Also different tubes will sound different. Some tubes might be inherently bright, others warm and Smokey. Also keep in mind what each tubes does in the preamp.

I currently have a Long Plate Mullard ECC83 in V1 and V2 with the Blackburn in V3. This was to experiment with some overdrive on some heavy rock tunes.

UPS, Fed Ex, and the like are notorious for abusing packages.

Not sure why but if I have a package shipped Fed Ex to one certain location at work, guaranteed they use it for a football.

Hmmmm interesting.... what I think I'm seeing here is B&O's ICEpower 250ASX2 combination SMPS and Class D ouput module.... which is identical to the one found in the STL & STLMAX 6.0

B&O rates this unit at max 630w RMS at 4ohms.... I wonder how Agedhorse squeezed 900w out of this thing for all of the 9.0 iterations....

That's right.... I'm talkin to yooooooo.......:D

Had this head for a couple of weeks now... still digging it as much as I did on Day 1. Playing my Streamer passive through the Streamliner is flat-out tasty: I just feel like the natural character of the bass, the strings, and my technique jump right out of the speakers. Effortless low-end. *Love* it.

That's why I double box. When I sold and shipped out both my GK Fusion and MB LMTube, I put the amp in the original box, then put that box inside another one.

But since I have a bass en route right now, I'll not say anything bad about package handlers. I love them all...

On a semi-related topic, just got my Shuttle 9.0. Different tone than the S900 set flat, but so far I like 'em both. I have to gig it to tell though...

It also warns people not to look directly into the RSBL's.

I am too dumb::confused::confused::help:

Thats old news.

IIRC The 9.0 as well as the Streamliner me thinks has the phat abatement addition to them that allow for more output and the Strealiner als has the 3DPM which are several little tweaks to the power management system.

I'm close I know, if I didn't get it exactly right.

Great minds think alike.

I always double box. Keeps the gorillas out.
