Genz Benz Streamliner; Part 4

Do the laptop or Gator bags give enough padding for the SL900? Also, if they don't fit quite right, won't the amp bounce around inside instead of being held in place?

Good ideas though, if it really will protect the amp enough I think I'll go that way.

They fit well enough for my purposes and are nicely padded. I am careful with my gear, so I have never had problems, but I would not hesitate to put either my Shuttle 9 in its Gator bag...or the Streamliner in its Gator bag in the back of the band trailer with all the other gear while on the road...

A few things;
* as mentioned, you don't need the receipt.
* if you'd like, you can even fill out the warranty on line:
Link Removed
* Lastly- Overdrive tone. Don't forget that if the overdrive sounds "too much", I'd suggest turning off your tweeter if you haven't already. Also, roll off some treble on the amp. I noticed a few people aren't bothering to re-eq when they demo the overdrive. ....then, they say it is a little buzzy.

The overdrive is perfect I wouldnt change a thing.

It is very pleasing to the ear.

Great job guys!:)

I'm hoping to find different beasts like Streamliner v Shuttle & P vs J. That makes life more interesting. No one bass can do everything perfect, neither can an amp

I kind of grew tired of that midrange laden tone of my 51 and 53 single coil P Basses, went out and bought a fretless 5 string G&L, and a fretted Tobias Basic V and I may let both go because I'm back to the P Basses. The Streamliner just loves P Basses.

I just could never get into the sound of a P, through a streamliner or a giant SVT. It somtimes makes me feel as though my bassplayer card will be revoked because of it. But a Jazz, mmmm sweet baby come to papa :D But, as we all know that is another thread and an endless debate :bassist:

I have a P that sounds great through the midrange but lacks down low. Hoping the SL helps

I also hope it tames by Sterlings in a good way (There is a bad way)

Well Doods,
Ordered my first ever Genz Benz amp - the Streamliner 900 today; also paired it with a Bergantino HT112ER (from my favorite [DEL]drug[/DEL] I mean, music dealer, Greg @ Rocket Music).

With my 2 Roscoes, Mike Lull M5V and Modulus Q5, I figure I should be the new God of Thunder (well, at least in my tiny brain and miniscule slice of the world).

Rock On Lads! :bassist:

J Basses are for wimps. Real men play P Basses.:D;)

I absolutely love the sound of my P Basses through the Streamliner. You do have to have a taste for the single coil P sound.

My P's are drastically different than a split coil P. Which is yours?:)

Had to post a pic for fun of the 600

OK, so this week I've had my SL900 on a Pop/Country rehearsal and two gigs with them, tomorrow my R&B/funk/top 40 band, then a Sunday afternoon smooth Jazz gig.

Thus far with my Sadowsky on the country stuff, along with my little Bag End cab, it's ben pure bliss.
The guitar player commented that in the rehearsal place, it's the first time he could really hear all the notes and it was very warm at the same time.
And the amp is set dead flat. no boost or cut anywhere. And on the gigs it was left the same exact way.
To be fair, on the bass tonight I had my VTC rolled back about 25% and bass bumped about 10%.

Tomorrow will be also with my Bag End, but I'm really thinking of going all out and bringing a 410 or TWO!!!!
:bassist:
Nice stage and good FOH tomorrow.

Sunday will be the same, nice stage and a REAL nice FOH. May need the 410's just for stage volume.

I'm gonna add my Valenti to the mix this weekend along with my Sadowsky.

Not a errant hiss, crackle, pop or anything from it (DI or through my cab)

(BTW Ken- not getting that weird overtone anywhere on the Valenti at my place. Strange....:hmm:)

My SL600 finally arrived yesterday in ChCh NZ. It has been sitting up in Auckland for the last week due to the earthquake. Last night I played around with headphones and forgot everything else that is going on around here at the moment. It seems great bass tone does in fact melt worries away. And the tone is seriously that good!! This is my first really nice bass amp and I'm lucky enough to have found a second-hand Neo 212T in Auckland that hopefully will arrive in two weeks....then I'm expecting not a care in the world. :hyper:

Glad to hear. I hope things get back to normal for you soon.
