I wish I knew why I can't get that overdriven tone--that's one of the reasons I bought the amp . I am going to try it with some other of my basses-perhaps with my Ric 4003 , which seems to have hotter passive pickups than my Fender J . If that does not work , then I may put in an NOS tube with hotter gain to see if that will help, but you would think with the button in and the gain dimed , I could drive any 12ax7 , which is what I think comes wth the SL 900 in V1 ( I hope that's what's in there and not some 12AU7)

Please double-check your bass set-up. If your pole pieces or pickup body is set too low, or the strings too high, or the poles too far off center of the string's longitudinal axis, output level can be as low as 25% of ideal. I just worked with somebody else on this exact problem.

My streamliner 900 arrived today, and i can't tell you how much i love the tone on this thing. Right now the only cab i own is a Avatar 212 neo, and even though the avatar is just ok to me this thing brought new life to it. I cant wait till i get my bergie cab and see how this puppy sound in 4hms. Now the Carvin B1500 takes a back seat unless a outdoor gig comes up.

Hi Genz Chaps - Hasbeen/Agedhorse

I am in the UK and I really need the correct Aux cable that can go from my iPod to the back of my Streamliner 900.

My dealer, the Bass Merchant, cant find one locally in the elec shops that they can send me. I think they have one on back-order from Fender UK.

I will email you guys if thats ok...really need one for rehearsing asap if you can get a hold of one (will be paid for).

Gareth. These are really easy to find. Maplins have them (to name but one shop).

If you get a stereo 3.5mm jack to stereo 3.5mm lead, and put a 3.5mm to 1/4 headphone adaptor on one end this will work perfectly.

There is really no need to pay for a name one IME, especially if its just for at home.

EDIT: Just looked on Amazon. the lead costs £1.34 and im sure you have an adaptor lying around, but if not thats £1.22. both in stock.

The aux input is one of the features I really like on these Genz Benz amps. It's great for silent practice, or if you have a full range cab and want to play along with an mp3 for fun. I don't know why more amp makers don't offer this. The Streamliner 900 is definitely a keeper for me.

The correct cable (lead) for this application is 1/8" TRS (stereo) on one end and 1/4" TRS (stereo) on the other. Proper stereo summing is handled inside the Streamliner.

Thanks guys, I actually had the Bass Merchant looking for one for me, but they said the local elec stores didnt have the specific cable that Genz suggest to use:

Cable -1/8" TRS on the IPOD side to a 1/4"TRS on the amp side

This is what the instructions say:

"AUX INPUT – A 1/4” unbalanced line level aux. input is provided that sums directly to the main output bus, controlled by the master volume control. This input is ideal for practicing with recorded tracks from a CD player, IPOD, or MP-3 player. This input is a tip-ring-sleeve type jack with built-in summing resistors that sum left and right signals when used with a stereo cable. This input will also work with a mono tip-sleeve plug. Adjust the level of the playback source to balance with the bass guitar’s volume

People have noticed how good my bands sound since I've been using the Streamliner. I think a lot of it is because of the SL sound, although nobody else realizes that. It's old-school enough to sound like a BASS but has enough of a modern edge too.

I find I can turn up a lot louder with this amp without drowning anyone out or hurting anyone's ears. It seems to slot into a live mix very nicely.

Wed I ran the S900 with both my Berg AE210 cabs (4 ohm load total) at a Steely Jam gig. Was a lot of booty and multiple bandmates commented how the sound rocked. Lots of good bass good.
