Red Planet said:I had an old Traynor Bass Head back in the day. That thing was awesome. I'm not sure of the model. It had a factory installed fan at the end of the cabinet. I've never seen another one like it.
I played a gig the other day with my Streamline, one Bergantino HT112EX (on a stand), and just my Upright Emanuel Wilfer. The Streamliner sounded great. No complaints whatsoever.
I can see where the Streamliner would sound good with an old school cab like that. FWIW I never use a tweeter.
I was comparing 2 identical 1x15 cabs yesterday. One with the tweeter & it's x-over bypassed totally, & the other standard(with horn).
Tried many different settings with the horn- off,& various 'on' settings on it's dial.
Was quite amazing to hear just how much we bassists DON'T need a tweeter!
The 15" with no horn reproduced -to my ears at least- damn near EVERY bit of the bass sound needed.
When compared, only the string noise & 'flubs' really showed up with the tweeter up.
Yep, I rarely ever have it turned up more than 1/4, & usually is off.
