Much to my bank account's chagrin, I've been cab shopping for a couple of weeks. My goal was to find a single cab solution for the STL900 that will suit my Jazz trio gigs. I've heard a couple of good sounding bassists lately, and was particularly impressed with a dude with an upright, and EA Doubler/Wizzy 110 cab. Of course, up here in the GTA there is no dealer for EA, so hearing that combo was out of the question.
So I've been trolling the local classifieds, and harassing the local (and not so local) music stores to see if I can come up with just the right thing. STL900 and basses in hands, I've hoofed it around to try about 30 or 40 different cabs just to see if I could find something suitable. Well, I found it - a single 115 cab with no tweeter. Together this cab and the STL900 sounds extremely close to a B15N (yes I have one of those), but with a $hitload more headroom. It's absolutely perfect with my Rob Allen for jazz. Anyone care to guess?
Glad you found something! Easier & cheaper for me to get amps, so my STL's gone.
Do tell tho.......

Bag End?
Pffft. I bet it's an old JBL E145 in a Kroth TL bin... ;-)
more details please, not only about the final purchase. It would be useful for the TB community if you could write a sort of extensive review of the different cabs that you tested...thanks

Time to give it some more play now
Hey Sratas,
I'll talk more about the final purchase after a few more guesses, but I'll likely stay clear of reviewing a whole bunch of cabs that didn't fit the bill. I don't want to drop my opinion and steer people in a direction that I went, but I will be happy to talk about the process, and the tone goals I was after, how's that?

I will venture either an Eden cab or an Avatar? Maybe even Emperor?
I did actually demo an Eden 115. Wasn't my thing. I don't think I've ever even seen an Emperor, and have only come across an Avatar 410 (not recently).
