GenzBenz Streamliner Pt 8...

I would think the Uber115's would be Uberlicious with the Streamliner (or just about any decent amp).

You might also check out the GK Neo115's; I've heard good things about them.

The GB's look pretty sweet but those are out of my budget if I were to buy new. I could see spending that on the pair, maybe...

It's been a long time since I've tried any GK cabs, but I wasn't much a fan back then. love their amps though!

I love the sound of my Accugroove Tri-115 - one of them works for me, I can't imagine a pair!

Dan K.

I'll check em' out! One might be more than enough for me as well, at least to start with.

Let me know if you want to unload one of those gs112s! :D:hiding:

I'll be keeping those :D

I just picked up one of the new Acme Full Range Neo 12's. Since one of the demonstration clips I did used the Streamliner900, I thought I'd post it up here. If you have a good playback system, the sound quality is IMO very good, and replicates what I hear in the room quite well.

The bass is my amazing Nordstrand passive VP5 with nickel wound strings. Streamliner has a slight mid mid boost, and a slight reduction in bass and treble. It is a pretty amazing sounding rig for the P Bass, and brings to mind what many describe as a '15' tone.... very warm, fat, but still articulate.

The Streamliner just kills with a P Bass and a cab that can use all that big low end (Berg, Acme, the Genz1288 or 115, etc.).

hi guys,

i posted earlier on asking what cab to match with the gb stl 600.
i just bought a hartke hydrive 112.
i plug everything on, turned it on, waited for 10+ sec for the warm up... very excited .. then NOTHING !!

the lights on the stl seems to be working fine, warm up, power on, mute, gain, the tubes are lighted too
i changed instrument cable, changed speakon holes, still no sound :(
any advice for me ? this is my first head and cab, was using some practice amp earlier on.

(btw, i'm not from usa, so gb's customer service cant help me, and i got it from ebay)
i suspect it's the speaker cable, should i just go buy 1 more to try ?

Try to eliminate possible causes like you are doing. So, it isn't the instrument cable. To check if it is a preamp issue (maybe a bad tube), plug you instrument cable in the 'effects return' of the amp. If that works, then it is probably a tube. If no sound comes out, a new speaker cable would be the next step (always good to have a spare even if it turns out not to be the issue), and also trying with a different cab.

Most amp failures happen right out of the box (shipping, a bad part or whatever). Hopefully, it is something simple.

What are you using for a speaker cable?

If you are using SpeakOn, be sure that it['s wired 1+/1- on the amp end and MOST speakers are also wired 1+/1- but there are a few exceptions. There are also cables that are wired 1+/2+ on one end and 1+/1- on the other end, they are for bridging and should not be used with any of our products (and most bass amps).

Aged, can I use a speakon out of one side and a 1/4" speaker cable out of the back of the SL900 at the same time w/out issue?

There is no 1/4" speaker output on the amp. 1/4" connections won't meet safety standard requirements.

Thanks for all the reply!

I'll try the effect loop using instrument first since I don't have another cab to verify if the cab is working :-(
As for the speakon cable, I suspected it is not screwed properly so I removed it and rescrew the connection. It seems to be 1+/1- at the moment.
Is the connection from 1+ to 1+, 1- to 1- ???

it should be 1+ and 1- on each end. .If you swap on one side you reverse the polarity which is not good if you use more than One Speaker cab.

If your mute light is lit you are muted, unless I read this wrong.

I guess I should try to wire the speakon from 1+ to 1- and 1- to 1+ and try first ??

When there's no sound, the only thing I can do is to play with the knobs and whatever button available, including the mute, lol

NO!!!

The cable must be wired 1+ to 1+ and 1- to 1-.

Do you have a knowledgable friend who maybe can look things over to be sure it's not something simple you are overlooking?

ok, anyway i bought a new cable, tested at the shop it's working and it doesnt solve the problem
the effect in and out also doesnt help :(

i guess it's either the head or the cab now. i will bring the head to somewhere to troubleshoot it.

Cool beans! Thanks. I've got my Speakons anyways, but I've also got a ton of 1/4" speaker cable. I just want to make sure I've got the right stuff in my gig bag when it's needed...

Yup, pack the gig bag right the first time ;)

You can always install SpeakOns on your 1/4" speaker cables.

1/4" is dead for the professional world. Thank goodness ;)

Good! When it comes to amps & cabs I strongly prefer it...

On a separate note, I remember reading about someone having an issue with their power cable a few pages back. Mine seems to have an issue as well. The power cable that shipped with the amp does not fully seat into the power jack at the rear of the amp. It's got a good 1/16"-1/8" to go before it's in all the way, and thus the cable wiggles. Enough that it lost power while sitting on my desk without being touched.

I just replaced it with another IEC cable that I had here and it seats in all the way. Kinda weird, but if it works, whatever.
