GenzBenz Streamliner Pt 8...

I think .. well i know you are right about the micro for a guitar... I play with a guitar player Rusty Burns. .He is one of the hot texas guitar heros.. He is not only a guitar player but a Great musician .. ...He is a living legend.
This summer we were in Europe and used all backline rental . He will always get an old marshal. He was so knocked out at how great my Streamliner sounded and how consistent it was.. I usually backline two svt cabs but only used one this time out on most gigs.. Boy a Streamliner 1800 would be cool..!
Anyway, He was saying, man if they had something like this for guitar players, he would buy two of them..

I can see how there is an untapped market setting there waiting. Yes Guitar Players would be slower to move to the Technology but it would be a good investment.

A little two channel version (clean/dirty) of the Streamliner with I a 300 watt output section and a 150 watt version too.

And maybe even a combo with a nicely made NEO 12. Some guitards would insist on something standing behind them but any real player would be picking the combo up with one finger and booking on down the road.

It will be fun to see if Genz has something new for Winter NAMM next year. I'm hoping for an 'improved' Shuttle 9, with the newer power module and limiting design, and a bit more useful EQ (possibly the variable voicing controls like on the Shuttle Max), and maybe an FET pre versus the current hybrid design.

Who knows, but that spec (or something conceptually similar) would be the first head that would make me seriously consider moving on from the amazing F500. I like this company, and would enjoy moving my amplification (heads anyway) totally into their camp, but the current Shuttles don't particularly float my boat. A modification of the Max series into a smaller box... there you go:hyper:

Just musing!

I'm still hoping for a Shuttle Max 18.2. Perfect with a couple of AE212's for those "big gigs."

Try the Streamliner on guitar, you just might be surprised ;) (In the right application, it rips.)

I'm in! I've tried to find a Streamliner locally to try out to no avail.... Just picked it up offline after watching Ed Friedland's review like 4 times!

Lookin' forward to plugging it in! My bass that is....

Guitarist have been playing bass amps for years!!!! I bet this would blow a guitarist away!

Has anyone ever matched up and played a Streamliner STM-600 or STM-900, with any of these following cabs:

Ampeg Heritage SVT-410HLF

Ampeg SVT-15E

Orange Isobaric Orange Smart Power SP212

Orange OBC415 (OBC115)

Just wondering how they match up and sound together.

Depends on what you are loking for. and what bass you are playing..
I have used my Streamliner 900 on a few of them that you have posted... Sounds great.. But i like to have a Hi Freq in my cab so i can blend it in a little...
I currently use a Genz Uber115 on most of my gigs, big and small.. and at times will add a Quad 1288 to it..

The Uber 155 has a 3015 type of 15.. Im sure it is a special build for GB but is similar to the 3015. The cab also has a tweeter that opens up the top..

Good to see I'm not the only nutter using the 900 with 3-way single 10's!

They might not be a perfect match in terms of power handling, but as long as you exercise some restraint, it sounds great.

And size-wise, they make an excellent compact rig...

Actually, the VL110 needs a lot of horsepower so the 900 opens them up quite well at the volume settings that you would expect to be at.

Thank you, svtb.

I alternate between my 2011 Fender American Standard P-bass (and a recent Fender 70's P-bass reissue) and my Carvin B40 basses.

I do lean more towards and my goal is to have a liquid, smooth, warm, thick, big, lower-end (Mids, low-mids and lows) sound; with decent detail or should I say....articulation. Of course I also dial in some highs, depending on the song itself. So I do want some flexibility in tone But I don't typically accentuate the highs much, nor do I want gear that primarily is tuned or voiced for a huge top end.

Something to note about the Streamliner, is that it gives pretty much the thickest, most liquid foundation of any amp currently on the market. The mids are fairly mild-mannered, and although the high end is more open than some SS and hybrid amps, it's nothing like the aggressive grind that you get from G-K or SWR.

As a result, the SL600/900 seems to favor mid-forward cabs, that feature a tight low end.

I haven't tried everything on your list, but I think you might find the Orange cabs and the Ampeg HLF to be lacking in articulation, when paired with the Streamliner.
