I use the Genz bag for mine. No complaints. The pocket on the front is big enough for the power and speaker cables too...
Played in a large town hall on Saturday night with my STR900, 2x Bergantino 112s and my SR5. We were on a large stage and the band was spread right across it.
At the soundcheck everyone else was on at the soundman trying to get enough of their own instrument's volume in their wedges. I had all the dials on my STR pretty much at noon with the gain button engaged, and I could hear the bass beautifully and had no need for bass in my wedge. It was the nice round tone that cut through without sounding cutting that's been described earlier in this thread. And this was in a room that is reverb city!
Same deal on the gig itself. Others were struggling to hear themselves and were waving furiously at the soundman for more level. I just got to enjoy grooving out with the sound coming through my rig. I really, really like this amp head!

My apologies if this has been brought up already but I have seen several people suggest the GK Neo cabs as a good match for the SL900. Has anyone tried the MB 104HF? Little more expensive but even lighter and better sensitivity than the GK. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Streamliner A/B test GK NEO 115 vs Epifani 310 NYC.
Now that I understand my cabs more I feel I the Streamliner can get the sound I want without all the fancy EQ. My GK NEO needs more bass & mids cut to 9 o clock at 2.5k. My Epifani needs the bass cut & the mids boosted at 2.5k.
Learn the frequency dips\boosts of your cabs & then you can really have much better results.
BTW... I got a bid out on a 9.2, lets hope

It's been a long journey (see my post "Reggae Bass" if you're interested http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/reggae-bass-816097/).
Last night I finally played a gig with my new GB STL 900 and GB Uber 410 (4 ohm). Previous to the gig, I messed around in the garage and once at rehearsal, but could only turn up to about 10% because the owner of the room was freaking from the rumble.
I was able to produce a thump that just wasn't there with my previous Ampeg setup (SVT-CL/810), and the roundness of the bass sound was simply amazing. Comparing my performance to my own previous performances over the past 25 years, I was on fire! I was coming up with reggae drop outs, low roots slides, and staccato marches, with ease, because of how good the strings felt under my fingers. We've been working in a new drummer for the past year and he and I linked up last night better than ever before...I guess it was me the whole time
Without me even prodding, ALL of the guys in the band came over to tell me how great the bass sounded. I'm REALLY impressed and simply amazed by how happy I am with this setup.
Even with that great first experience, I still need to dial in the sound. I want to find away to get more punch out of the D & G strings, without losing the fatness of the E & A strings.
* Also, when I can afford it, I'm still planning on getting a fEARful 15/6/1, but for now I'm all smiles

That's the same setup I currently use, it's the best sound I've ever had!

Maybe it's too simple of an answer: have you tried raising the pickup on the d/g side?
That's interesting that you ask that. I did once, some years ago, but I felt that it enhanced the "string" sound, which I'm constantly trying to avoid. With this new setup, I think I should try it again. Thank you for the suggestion!
