GenzBenz Streamliner Pt 8...

I also could go with either the Streamliner or Shuttlemax tone... would they be in phase, no lag?
:help:

Agedhorse has confirmed you can do this but my question is how do you actually go with either? Is it that if you want the Streamliner tone you go from the Send of the Steamliner to the Receive of the Shuttlemax and vice versa if you want the Shuttlemax tone? Also, do you connect one or both the speakers from the amp head that gets the Receive? Hope I'm making sense.

I don't think I'll be trying this with my 300w cabs but am curious nonetheless...

Max:
Heres what I want to do... Use the Shuttlemax 9.2 straight up into 1 cab like usual... now to run the 2nd cab I use the 9.2 as a preamp & the SL 900 JUST as a poweramp. I use the preamp out jack of the 9.2 into the poweramp in of the SL900. I use the Speakon jack from the SL900 into the other cab.

TWO Shuttlemax 9.2s ! Do the reverse for 2 Streamliners

Got it. Thanks for the great explanation! :D

P-bass -> STL900 -> Berg HS210 = excellent ;-)

Thats so awesome, I dont even know where to start

The Sansamp PBDDI has a hot output & a regular output so I'll be good

The Streamliner tube warmth may be too much for people on some occasions... fine, grab the preamp of your choice & rock some hi-fi tones. Come on people? Thats awesome!

I'm crazy enough to chain those bastards together. Shuttlemax 9.2 + Streamliner 900 into (2) 750w 5.3 ohm Epifani 310s? NICE !

I don't know why I didnt think of this! I have a Sansamp and Tonehammer that are excellent pre's....the Tonehammer being more clear and crisp, so effectively I have two amps in one.

I'll have to try this out sometime.

Also kinda cool you hook the amps up for super power.

I can't wait to hear this in a mix. Even in the basement, it's a huge improvement over my Epi UL2-410 with STL900. I doubt I'll use them together very often. One is going to live at the practice space and one at home, so I took this photo op while they're together. I thought I would hate the silver grills, but they look good with the silver-face of the STL900.

Yeah yeah, but most of my gigs want the tube-tone. Plus, having dropped a NOS Phillips 5751 in V1, I can still get an open, hifi sound out of the STL when I need it, and if it's still not enough I can bypass the preamp with my sansamp para-driver for the solid state sound.

AND the GKs are going to be much better than the Epi with dog hair... so happy to be rid of carpeted cabs!

Well, my Streamliner 900 arrived today and for everything that I can see physically it's a really nicely made unit. My initial impressions on the GK MB500 was 'kinda cheap' but this is a beautiful piece. It feels sturdy, all jacks and pots feel like quality and that blue window is pretty sexy! It keeps drawing me in and I can't look away. But I have, for now.

I won't get it through a cab for a week but through headphones it sounds very nice. Not sure how that headphone sound will generally translate to what I will eventually hear through a cab (and, of course, that depends on the cab. I know) but I am guessing (and hoping) it's of similar character and probably better. Most importantly it feels lively and not at all dead or muddy as I have read it described in some places. But I honestly didn't think it would based on KJungs and Ed Friedlander's videos. Neither had any indication of that. It's probably as important what gets plugged into it as well. My Mod Q5 and Spector Euro 5 are both outfitted with EMG PU's and pre's so it's pretty bright from the start. Can't wait to get it plugged into something live and loud.

Just got a 600 and I love it! I went with the 600 because I tend to like the sound of a power section that's being pushed a bit.
Does anyone know if it is alright for the clip light to come on? Is it hurting the amp?
I love the dirty sound I'm getting but don't want to hurt anything. I love cranking the mids on this thing!

As I understand it, the yellow "peak" light just lets you know that you're hitting the 3DPM circuit. No problem, as long as your speakers aren't showing any signs of distress.

You can actually vary how soon and how hard you hit the yellow light, depending on the relationship between the Volume and Master knobs. Turn down the Volume and dime the Master, if you want less "tubey" compression in the output stage.

Wonder Twin Powers Activated!

Cool. I got this amp coming directly from a Mesa 400 (non plus) and an Ampeg V4-B so, I'm used to (and prefer) some power section clipage. I can't believe how close this amp can get to those sounds! The tube like feel is absolutely incredible!

I'm still uncertain if I like the STL900 with my Aggie GS112s, so I might be in the hunt for different cabs soon. The Berg's mentioned as good matches to the 900 might be too close sonically to the Aguilar's for me to justify, so I am considering the GKs as a possible addition to the gear closet. Which models did you end up with? Thanks!

Those are both NEO 212-II's. Many have described them as the poor man's Berg AE 212. They are very balanced tonally to my ear, having less of a high-mid bump than I noticed in the AE line when I had a chance to audition them some time ago. I'm sure the edge would go to the superior craftsmanship and engineering of the Berg cabs, but for the price I paid (just under $1k for a modular 4x12 stack) I can't imagine I'd be any happier.
