I can't express how much I love the 12-3, 210-3 and now 2 of the 10-2 Array cabs. It's almost unreal the volume, punch, clarity, and quality thick tone they produce. Best cabs I've ever used. I will say this to, the 10-2 looks like toys when I was un-boxing them but man do they hit hard and really blow my mind with what I'm getting out of 2.

I've been impressed with one 10-2 cab with my combo. I though I'd need 2 but I haven't puled out the credit card yet.

One of the 10-2 surprises me at how much volume but when I plugged in the 2nd i was blown away at the difference. The tone is so much fuller with the 2nd. I probably will never use just 1 because it sounded so much better.

I did experience that with my Shuttle 10x2 mini stack as well. If I end up playing more gigs with an amp (maybe 6 a year at this point) I'll probably get a 2nd for just that reason - and the stack looks cool.

Hi,
I'm currently running an Helix lt direct into a Peavey IPR1600 power amp and 2 Genz Focus 115 + 210 cab. It sounds pretty good but I am using some distortion and I find the tweeters to be harsh sometimes. I don't like turning them off because then I miss the highs. I'm wondering if adding a ba10-2 to my rig would be a solution. I could turn the tweeter off on my cabs and set the ba10-2 on the second channel of my amp with a switch sending only 100hz and up to the ba10-2.

What do you think? How do you like the bass array cabs with distortion?

As commented by others, I think you would be pleased with how the Bass Array responds to overdriven/distorted tones. It does go way beyond just not having the top end "edge" that a tweeter reproduces. When using distortion with the BA design, the definition of the harmonic content in the over-driven signal is much more detailed with more "clarity" which is an odd word to use for distortion but that how it comes out. It is not a "spattered" tone but rather a more detailed tone. This is partly because of the paper cone drivers as much as the array concept and how it projects and disperses. I've mentioned before that Dunlop Manufacturing uses our Bass Array and MG-800 rig in their demo room because of how it best represents their various pedals.
I hope this helps.

Has anyone tried the 10-2 cabs and a 12-3 cab together? I’m thinking of getting 1 to mix with my 10-2 to mix up a little. Probably would give more low end also.

I spent a little time first comparing the 12-3 and the 10-2 cabs and then with both together, mentioned in Genzler Amplification Club

The 12-3 dominates the mix but I think the little brother still adds its flavor and you get a degree of the magic of putting more than one BA cab together (though I expect less than if you use two identical cabs). Bottom line is that they kick some serious behind together.

I used my Genzler 350 and both 10-2 cabs this morning at a church filling in with a band. The rig easily filled the room with great tone and full band mix with loud drums. I actually used my wireless and walked out in audience and alternated between 1 and both cabs and even with just 1 cab it cut through very nice. Little brighter than I’m used to with the other 12-3 or 210-3 arrays but easily eq’d out if needed. Plenty of punch and clarity with this setup. Some of the band members that have heard my other Genzler rig both 12-3 and 210-3 rigs said it sounded just as good to them. I’m very satisfied with this setup. Looking forward to playing at a different church tonight with a different band tonight and even louder setting.

I’m amazed by this little rig of thunder as Jeff called it lol. I played 2 different church settings with 2 different loud bands and the bass sounded amazing in the mix. The 2nd church today recorded some of the worship and I had a chance to hear the bass and it was powerful in ge mix with great clarity, punch and definition to every note. Lots of compliments on this setup. Genzler continues to amaze me with their arrays and heads.

Yesterday the main mixer was out so they used a small one that did not have enough inputs after the vocals and keyboards for guitar and bass to front of house. I go to my car and get my small mixer to add to it but they did not want to deal with the "extra work", so I put the guitar into my mixer then into my Glenzler Magellan 800's Aux In filling the auditorium with Bass and Guitar through my rig.
I went to the back of the room and it sounded fantastic.

anyone here use a footswtich for your drive channel?

I got a simple footswtich today, and when i plug it in, both my clean and drive channel LED's are on. When I click the footswtich, I can hear the channels changing as they should, but the LED is being weird. When I'm on the clean channel, both LED's are on, but the drive channel is dim. When I click to the drive channel, only the drive LED is on (as it should be).

I sent an email to Genzler, but curious if anyone else had similar issues?

EDIT:

Jeff sent me this response.

About the foot switch, the issue is the LED in the footswitch. It is probably wired in series with the switch inside the pedal which is causing the issue on the Magellan 800 with the channel LEDS.

Half of the LED’s on foot switches are wired one way and the other half another way.

If you could use a footswitch without the LED there would be no issue. Or the LED would need to be rewired inside your foot switch.

Just want to share this incase anyone else comes across it. Thanks Jeff!

I just answered your email. The LED on your footswitch needs to be wired in series with the switch, yours is in parallel if the LEDs on the amp are staying lit. I hope this helps.

I use a GK MB footswitch with mine and it works just fine.

Just to be clear, I did make a mistake in my original email to Lammchop93. If using a single button ft sw with an LED in the pedal that LED does need to be wired in Series with the switch---not parallel. I had a case of Monday-itis.

Jeff solved my problem! Just wanted to share this so everyone was aware if they have the same situation

I think you'll find that this was answered previously in this thread - I even posted pictures of the rewire I did...

@Jeff Genzler - this is likely another revenue stream for you... A nice Genzler foot pedal that matches the magellan industrial design.

I would likely buy one even though I have a third party one...
