One of the few basses I’ve never tried. My wife would leave me.
Definitely not for the faint of heart or should I say faith of pockets lol. Although I’ve seen quite a few sale for the cheapest I’ve ever seen last year. One sold for $5900. Guess the markets been down.
Sounds nice and fat. I expected to be more midrangy like a lot of other 4-10's I've heard. Very nice.
Thank you sir. It really sounds very smooth throughout the entire frequency spectrum. The bass is tight and low without it being to much bass. The "B" string sounds awesome. I actually prefer a more mid forward cab because of the improv style music I play. Without those mids it would be pretty hard to hear some of the licks and chordal stuff that I play to compliment the keyboard player. This cab is balanced. Not to much of anything IMO. I do have to use a bit more highs than I would compared to a cab with a tweeter but the highs and mids are a lot smoother IMHO.
I placed my order this morning for a MG-800 & Bag! I'm really looking forward to hearing it through my GK NEO412, hoping it'll be a Rawking Combo.

I have a gig this Saturday, if the amp arrives by then, it'll get it's maiden voyage.

I would be interested in hearing how the 800 sounds through a Hartke 410 HyDrive cab. My LH1000 is just getting to be too heavy for this old man
I feel ya.
I still have my GK 1001RBII, and although I love that amp, and it's not going anywhere, I am tired of lugging it around in it's rack case...
I just sold my other lightweight head (the GK MB800) to help offset the purchase of the Genzler...I'm hoping this new Magellan will give me the smoothness & lightweight of the MB800, and the heft of tone that the 1001RBII has.

I ran the MG-800 through 3 12's yesterday with an Alpha-Omega Ultra pedal and decided to crank it up and just have a moment of joyous edgy expression which turned into about 10 min of expression lol. I do not think you will be disappointed in the MG800's ability to take raunchy distortion into the 12s. I shook the building and probably made small dogs run, but man was it fun.

And to add; I had an isolated a/b box with the setup also running to a BA410-3 as I was comparing the BA12-3 312 setup to the BA410, that was certainly fun.

HAHA. Bear in mind psychoacoustics play an important part in perception. And also bear in mind I am not allowed to praise products I carry as a vendor. So first the psychoacoustics aspecs: I have been personally playing the BA12-3 PAIR since they came out. I am very used to them. In general, I LIKE 12" cabs. So I am predisposed to LIKE 12" cabs better than 10" cabs.
My perception/guess was that either would shake everything off the walls if cranked wide open. Both would get louder than my ears could take - I didn't measure SPL. I felt more "gut punch" with the 410. Also more "quickness". I liked the low end of the 12s. Both had smooth mid/highs but something is to be said for a contiguous array like in the BA410-3; perhaps a bit more pronounced smooth mid/high? Difficult to say as I was using the Alpha-Omega jacked pretty well. If given my personal choice, AND I was willing to take 3 different cabs, I would have to go with the 12s - but remember I am already psychoacoustically biased towards them. If I wanted a one-cab solution I would take the BA410-3. If someone else was providing a backline I would be happy to play through either and believe I could adjust most any amp to get MY sound out of either setup.
edit: I DO believe it would be easier to carry the 410 versus the three 12s (but not two 12s) and if I were a bit younger OR if I played pro and needed that kind of power, I would have a BA410-3. If I keep thinking about it, I may end up with one anyway.

I NEVER record the really good stuff haha. I have written most of my music when driving down the road and have many albums worth that were not remembered when I got home - lost to the ethers. And have written many songs spontaneously - telling myself "I can remember that easily" - then totally not being able to reproduce the bass lines later. Oh Well...And you recorded that, right????????
See, and if you just recorded your musings and posted them, you could avoid our being infected by your bias AND eliminate any concerns that you are puffing your own product!! Just let the listener decide for themselves. Hint, hint. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge. Say no more....!

I know, right? It is a sad case that I sold my fairly sophisticated RME recording setup and invested all my funds in bass equipment like Genzler 410s and such. I am actually hoping to get another interface soon. But nobody would enjoy my playing, except me haha. I am garage band level and not a pro, but just to show you I do actually play and write, here is my last quick & dirty recording (non-Genzler content) of one of my songs (Sea of Light) I made with Finnish recording artist Jukka Rousu that we made for one of my Chi Kung DVDs.See! And if your recorded them, YOU would remember those bass lines and WE would get to hear those 12s and 10s A/B'd while playing a DINGWALL!! EZ-PZ!

I have a question for all the MG-800 users, that may also be using the Boss ES-5, ES-8 or MS-3.
Any of those Boss pedals/switchers are capable of changing the channel on the amp from clean/dirty (tons of youtube videos on it, just nothing with this specific amp)...has anyone actually tried this with the MG-800? I'm hoping it's no problem, because I love my ES-5, and this feature would certainly make my pedalboard even easier to use.
