Wanted to give a quick review on the new BA 410-3. I actually have at some point owned all of the BA series cabs and heads the 12, 210, 110, and now 410. I loved them all but I favor the punch of a 10" speakers for the type of music that I play...smooth jazz and gospel. These new 410’s are absolutely amazing! Very clean, clear quick bass response with the smoothest mids/highs that I’ve ever heard. I actually purchased 2 of these cabs but after hearing how loud one 410 cabinet is I doubt there will ever come a time that I need the second. I played with a Magellan 800 and the master volume was barely up maybe in between 8 and 9:00 o’clock. Cut thru the mix like it wasn’t there. I loved it. I’m a power amp/pre-amp guy but I have to give this amp its props. It really has nice headroom and adds weight to each note.

As I mentioned before I’m a power-amp/pre-amp guy so I had to give the 410-3 a go using what I consider to be the one of the best pre-amps in the world for bass (Millennia TD-1) with a Lab Gruppen IPD2400 1200 X 2 @ 4ohms. OMG... HEAVEN! The tone this cabinet produced was unreal. Only had the amp running at 60% and the cab projected the sounds with unbelievable accuracy. I do a lot of chordal stuff with soloing in the upper register so clean clear mids and highs are a big thing for my tone. It’s what allows you to cut thru the mix well. The 410-3 clearly excels at this. The entire band had favorable comments on the tone. If your a 410 guy don’t hesitate. I highly recommend it for whatever that’s worth... my 2 cents.

Yeah... I have never had any desire for a 410... too heavy, bad dispersion, more than I ever need or even want to need (if I need to play that loud on stage, the band is louder than I want to do). They do telegraph testosterone though don’t they? Well... this one addresses the too heavy and bad dispersion issues and still screams testosterone... maybe I do need something that can play that loud :cool:

Actually, before the 410, I’d add another 12-3 or two and I don’t need and can’t justify that to she-who-sees-the-bank-account-balance

Hey.... Just a thought. This thread is so long now and it may have been discussed, but.....

I think it would be cool to add a third BA12-3.... But in a wedge format- Two behind and one in front facing up. Ok, it’s a dream, but.....Just thinking out loud.

Yeah, that the same model. I’ve had mine for years. Subtle differences. Mine doesnt have the folding bars that go between the legs but otherwise looks identical. Doesn't have variable tilt but height can be adjusted and the price is pretty good. The twelve fits nicely - stable, no wobble or feeling like it’s leaning off the edge.

Just an update. I am gigging regularly with my Genzler gear (4x month plus practice 4x month).
I have the Magellan and three 12/3 arrays.
I only ever need two, but sometimes take three cause I can.
This gear has kept all amp gas at bay. Every bass I have sounds good thru this rig and I have found this equipment to be reliable and pleasing to play thru. Here is a crappy cell phone pic from a gig.

Well your both making me homesick. I did all if my playing in the Tempe/Phx area many years ago. We worked pretty hard at that time, 5 nights a week, 50 weeks a year. We traveled for fun and to get out of the heat.
It was sure fun and gave me a great baseline for product development.
Still have many friends gigging around.
Thanks for the memories.

Hey Jeff, I saw you guys a few times at Tijuana Tilly's back in the day. One of your old band-mates, Glen Bailey, is in my primary band right now.

T/T, well that was a long time ago.... Actually, the name GENZ BENZ came during a band break at Tilly's a few decades ago. One of the waitress there designed the first logo!
Glenn Bailey is awesome. We played together for 13 years or so. None of us EVER missed a gig. Can you believe that. We could go from "Desperado", "The Boys Are Back in Town" to "Orange Blossom Special" at the drop of a hat, because of his versatility from keys, to guitar, to fiddle. Plus the banjo! Say hello from me when you see him next.

Hey guys decided to post a sound clip/video of the Genzler BA410-3. I also posted 3 three other videos today on my YouTube channel of the same gig if your interested in hearing those. Hopefully its enough for you to clearly hear how well the cab sits in the mix. I'm really digging it! Used good set of headphones or computer speakers so you hear in detail.
