Genzler Amplification Club

Just recieved a mini-me. Been playing a 12-3 with a streamliner head and now have the 10-2 combo. My main driver was needing to bring my own rig to a weekly practice session where the current options are not optimal. Current option is to use the amp set up for an electronic drum set until the studio owner shows up towards the end of the session (doesn’t want bass played through the drum amp even though it sounds pretty sweet and IMHO does no harm) and then sneak the cable over to a tiny little guitar amp so as not to expose the discretion. That’s petty silly and I feel bad about being a sneak, don’t like to be “that guy”.

So back to the mini-me - Wow that puts out some sound and is so light I can do curls with it. Band mates were very psyched with the sound. We played much louder than usual last night as I was enjoying the new amp and everyone adjusted up to balance everything out. Had to be done!

I did an A/B by plugging the 350 into the 10-2 and 12-3. Not surprising, the twelve was deeper. The ten seemed like it had more sizzle, perhaps from the smaller cones. I had to play around with the eq to dial back the sizzle a bit. Usually with the streamliner/12 I’m eq-ing to add some sizzle in. I love this thing. I now stuggle as the combo is all I will need except for the very rare occasion where I will play a very large venue with no PA support. Last I did that was two years ago, played on the town common and the sound guy said my volume was perfect with the single twelve and didn’t send me through the PA. Wont part with that awesome twelve yet but it will gather a bit of dust while I enjoy this awesome little combo.

Yeah, I know pics or it didn’t happen, will get working on that.... 8-)

Received my covers for my pair of 12-3 yesterday. Really nice material that looks pretty durable and waterproof. If they made a messenger style bag with this material and the logo is definitely use that as a gig bag for stuff and frankly the heads could fit in it as well.
Marketing dept take a memo!

I am going to order the New 410-3.....With a cover.
I like a ONE cab 4Ω setup.. I figured i can use the Genzler cover for all of my local gigs .
I thought of having a case made for it when i take it out on long haul tour dates..
But my friend has near a MINT condition 1/2″ Construction ATA style case that he used with his old SWR 410.. I think the new 410-3 has the same outer dimensions.. I'm gonna wait and see. But for $125 how could I go wrong.. The cases i had for my Uber 115s were 4 times that cost when brand new !

So, note taken........ And leave it to you TB'rs to beat me to the punch. :thumbsup:

There will be an MG-350 Amp Head carry bag that will be a messenger bag style. And as @RNG1 has commented I was hoping it would also make a fine compact gig bag as well.

We had been asked for a small carry bag for the MG-350 amp for some time. Available later in June.

It’s kinda new, bought in January. My 80’s era lamp died and when I was looking for a replacement (warning: big, big rabbit hole to go down if you start googling about lava lamps, vintage vs. new, etc.) I found these giant 27 in tall specimens available and couldn’t resist. Got this one from Target on line. Takes a while to get going but it’s pretty neat.

Always good when I slow jam my practice sessions 8-)

My wife bought me a lava lamp back in the mid '90s, and it became a regular part of my gig rig, until it finally spilled its life essence after being knocked off by a drunken patron one too many times. Several years after this, my wife bought me a replacement lava lamp. I have the best wife. :D :thumbsup:

Hello guys,

Wanted to give a quick review on the new BA 410-3. I actually have at some point owned all of the BA series cabs and heads the 12, 210, 110, and now 410. I loved them all but I favor the punch of a 10" speakers for the type of music that I play...smooth jazz and gospel. These new 410’s are absolutely amazing! Very clean, clear quick bass response with the smoothest mids/highs that I’ve ever heard. I actually purchased 2 of these cabs but after hearing how loud one 410 cabinet is I doubt there will ever come a time that I need the second. I played with a Magellan 800 and the master volume was barely up maybe in between 8 and 9:00 o’clock. Cut thru the mix like it wasn’t there. I loved it. I’m a power amp/pre-amp guy but I have to give this amp its props. It really has nice headroom and adds weight to each note.

As I mentioned before I’m a power-amp/pre-amp guy so I had to give the 410-3 a go using what I consider to be the one of the best pre-amps in the world for bass (Millennia TD-1) with a Lab Gruppen IPD2400 1200 X 2 @ 4ohms. OMG... HEAVEN! The tone this cabinet produced was unreal. Only had the amp running at 60% and the cab projected the sounds with unbelievable accuracy. I do a lot of chordal stuff with soloing in the upper register so clean clear mids and highs are a big thing for my tone. It’s what allows you to cut thru the mix well. The 410-3 clearly excels at this. The entire band had favorable comments on the tone. If your a 410 guy don’t hesitate. I highly recommend it for whatever that’s worth... my 2 cents.

Nice, nice, nice rig! I didn't even know about that 4x10.

I've been using a magellan 800 as my blank canvas with pedals since it came out. It really is a true gigging man's tool. The only thing I would like to see is a second set of mid range controls instead of the contour. I'd even trade the drive channel for it.

I think you are describing the subway D800+...

Personally prefer the contour and both of these were on my short list. Ended up with the Magellan.
