I love my MG212. I use it almost all the time. .. The UBER 115 is still right up there. Very different sounding cab... The Uber 115 seems slight mid scooped compared to the 212. But the 115 has a peaky thing at about 600 and 1200 im guessing.. So i tame it by 2-3 dB.
But i also modded my Uber years ago. I added some cotton batting inside It made the cab seem deeper and smoothed out mids somewhat .. People hear my one cab rig and are always impressed .. It is NOT a typical 115... It really is magic. And Im used to it.

Local in ND? Been debating on going with a Genzler Cabinet to pair with my Magellan. If you pass on them let me know. May be Interested.

Enjoy enjoy! I'm pushing my band to get gigs in bigger rooms so I can enjoy my stack. The rig can really fill a big space.
And now I’m curious about that bass as well... being on this thread constantly puts my wallet in peril

I had an outdoor show cancelled today due to heavy rainfall..
So I was daydreaming and thought that these new Bass Array cabs may be very friendly to being Mic'd up.. Unlike other cabs with a tweeter that are a challenge ..
Bass Array has Everything already lined up for you to put a quality mic like an EV RE20 close up on teh cab for some isolation. but right between the 12" and the ARRAY area.

I'm really gassing hard for one of these Magellan 800's, but I have a couple questions.
Budget restraints are such that I can't swing the Genzler cabinets at the moment, but I actually really like the cab I have already so...has anyone ran this head through the GK NEO412 (or a pair of 212's)? I love the sound of my existing MB800 & 1001RBII, but this Genzler head has me really intrigued.
Second, I run more than a few pedals in my chain, plenty of distortion/OD's as well as some various modulation stuff & a pedal compressor, how does the Magellan handle being slammed in the front end with stacked effects? Both my GK heads take it like a trooper, but again, this Genzler head is something I'd like to try.

If you aren't running unity gain - there is a clip light on the pre side so you don't overload everything...
There is also a dirty channel where when it clips, it gives a warm distortion/od.
the big strength of the magellan IMO is being able to very quickly dial in different sounds using the contours. The A contour is mid scooped and heavier on the bass - the b contour is more old school tone with a low mid push.
Honestly if you are using distortion - you may find a bigger improvement in tone with the speakers. The bass array cabs compliment distorted tones really well due to not using horns for the high end / dist overtones. The paper mid/tweeters sound very organic.
Apparently Dunlop really likes how it makes their pedals feel and use the Genzler in their showroom to best show off their effects.
The Gk stuff is great but unfortunately I can't do a direct comparison for you as I don't have the GK stuff...
I run a ton of distortion effects in my chain, and the MG800 handles them beautifully. Even clipping on the clean channel has never become unmusical for me at all. The array cabs are fantastic for my sound as well, but absolutely do not hesitate to get started with the MG800.
The Magellan will make those GK cabs come alive.
I run mine into a pair of 8 ohm Schroeder Cabs (one single 12, one dual 12), and if I want a big stack I have an Epifani 3-10 UL that can connect also.(Three of the new dual voice coil tens at 5.6 ohms). It seriously smokes.
As far a pedals, here is a pic of my usual pedal set up. (TC Polytune Tuner, MarkBass Compressore, Ashdown Distortion / Octave, and a Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus). And it loves it.
I have another pedal board I can put inline for more funky effect with an Envelope followers and the like, and the MG800 just eats it up.
Believe me, I like it more than my older rig that I still have that is a Demeter HBP1 preamp with a Crown XLS1500 amp. I still have it and use it, but the Magellan is a lot easier, sounds as good, close to the power when necessary, and a lot lighter to carry around and set up.

Well I don't own the GK NEO 412 or 212 cabs, but I have used the Magellan on the GK NEO 410 and also with a combination of the NEO 410 and NEO 112 cabs and it worked great. The notes just came bursting out of those cabs. I originally pictured using that combination a lot, but after purchasing a like new condition Genz Benz UBER QUAD 1288t and UBER BASS 115t last Saturday I think those are now going to get the majority of the Magellan gigs.
"Pitch-defined" low-end! I love it.
A 410-3 would be sheer self-indulgence for me. I LOVE my 12-3 stack, and it would probably be way more cost-effective to simply add a 12-3 slant and be done. But I do love the idea of a 410-3, I surely do! and it sounds awesome.
I’ve played my Magellan 800 through a LDS single 15” with no tweeter, an Avatar neo 210
and now a Hathor 1203 and they’ve all sounded great. The Magellan is super easy to dial in a great sound.
As far effects go I run a few pedals in my chain and they sound killer. Octave, 2 ODs, fuzz, chorus, Afterneath. I prefer the effects through the clean channel.
