Genzler Amplification Club

Anyone using the Magellan 800 and 12 cabs for either punk or harder rock?

Yep, I use the MG800 and a pair of BA12-3s in my band which is a heavy alternative rock band with hints of punk and metal. Sounds awesome, keeps up our extremely heavy-handed drummer with no problems whatsoever. I also play with a lot of fuzz and distortion and the Array cabs handle that beautifully.

Here are some live videos from our last couple of shows. The bass was mixed a little low in the last show, but you can still get it. Signal Static

And no worries on your first response ;).

Besides the awesome Genzler rig, great playing and the band was good too. The crowd really got into the band. Fun to see. What do you have your BA-12's sitting on?

Well, thank you very much :). I’m a tad insecure about my playing, which I lean into by readily admitting my mediocre skill level, but it’s nice to hear when my playing is good!

Speaking of that... anyone recommend a good stand to raise a single 12?

To answer yours and SadowskySteve’s question - I have my BA12-3’s sitting on a pair of large black milk crates that I picked up for $30 or so from an industrial plastics shop.

They’re affordable, easy to transport and work well for decoupling from the floor. Just make sure to get the large size ones, not the regular / common size, and they’re perfect.

Pictures in the top of the post.
