Yep, just do it. You will be rewarded with a lighter wallet and the tubbiest sounding, reacting, feeling, light weight amp out there to date.
I might just have to. I feel like I need another amp. I have too many cabs. Hate to derail, but has anyone compared the streamliner with a tone hammer or orange tb500? So far, those have been tubiest for me.
For some reason, I did not get along with the Streamliner as well as I did with the Tone Hammer....I kept the TH ( for now).
I prefer the MG800 over both.... greater flexibility and easier for me to find the tone I’m looking for. Have you noticed if any of your other cabs paired with MG800 get you closer to where you want to be? A sealed 210 or 410 perhaps vs the array?

I've owned a TH500 and own a Streamliner 600. While I liked the TH at home, I struggled with it on the gig. The Streamliner I just plain love. It really gives you the impression of a tube amp while the TH just pretended to be one and not very convincingly to me. YMMV.
And to get back on topic, I own a Streamliner and a Magellan 800. I'm Lucky.
I’m very aware of the cab issue and sounding tubey. I have A/B it and actually prefer tube amps with ported cabs. I don’t have array cabs, but I have very efficient Genz Benz cabs. I got close with the 800, but I’m a vintage tone guy and to me the tone hammer and orange tb500 had more feel/push/fatness to it. I’m not going for tube distortion, more of that clean push. That 3D round bounce effect.

To add a bit of tube to my genzler setup, I've been using the Eden Glowplug pedal. Although with the 800 a bit of drive and B can get you somewhat close too...
I've been looking for a long time for something similar... Tried an Mxr m80... I like it but not quite what I want. Boss MS3 has a lot of options but it hasn't hit the tubey grind i'm imagining. I went for a Triode Beelzebub Boost, which sounds ok. Ashdown Lomenzo was too fuzzy. Am currently on a TC electronic Spectra which I like the most. I have been thinking of the Eden since I like both the crossover and blend that it has.
I feel ya. I’ve tried most of the tech 21 flavors and they aren’t for me. Tried the Ampeg and some others too. Compressors get me close. Putting my tonehammer preamp in front of my tonehammer gets me closer. The Eden is appealing.
Thank for the recommendations, guys. For the time being I'm moving away from pedals - I think I will start looking around for a Streamliner at some point.
I can't help but wonder if Jeff doesn't have an updated/improved design to the Streamliner somewhere down the pipeline. A Genzler hybrid class D amp would almost certainly be a 'shut up and take my money' kind of deal for me.

let me speak for the silent ones so far... I have no love of tubes for bass. I love the heft of my MG's in every register, their weight (both sonic and physical), flexibility, and reliability.
Obviously the company will respond to the market and the imaginations of the folk working on new products but I won't be one lining up for a product with tubes. Indeed, the one thing I didn't like about my Shuttle 9.0 was the tube.

Yeah, I will say there are some fun things about tubes, but I've never been particularly taken with them. I had a Shuttle before he Magellan, which had a tube in it. It sounded great, but nothing compared to the Magellan.
I can certainly vouch that the Shuttle and Streamliner are 2 totally different animals. About the only thing they have in common is the name Genz Benz on it. Although they both share the same power module and both have the 3 DPM circuit built in, they do not sound, feel or react the same.
In some ways I think the Magellan 800 seems closer to the Streamliner than it does the Shuttle, but also its own different animal as well.
Someone was asking about Genzler a few days ago and got nothing. Help them out if you can.

Not a fan of toobs myself. I have the Shuttle 9.0 and the only thing that's ever needed attention was the toob. Or at least the plate that it was connected to. Or something like that. Still love my 9.0 and would love a Magelan 800 but I'm about to blow up my band so I won't really be "needing" one
