I've been using this HPF (not with my MG350, as it's not necessary) with house gear or if there is a lesser quality amp at the venue. It's easy to throw in my case, and I can usually dial out the mud in any room: https://www.broughtonaudio.com/product-page/always-on-high-pass-filter

OK, would putting a 10-2, as I considered before, accomplish the same general goal of adding a 12 slant? Specifically, get the impedance down to 2 and give me more sound pointed at my ears? Plus, it would have the added benefit of giving me a nice small rig to cart when I don't want/need the 12s. Hmmm...

I have 1 of each cab and have payed them together a few times. For the most part a single 12-3 is all I need for my loudest settings and most of the time the single 10-2 would be enough. FWIW, I always play with the single cab on a stand to get it up closer to and pointed at my ears.

short answer - yes. with the correction that adding the third cab does not get you to 2 ohms... it takes you to 2.67 ohms which is what the heads are rated for. 4 cabs would get you to 2 ohms and is not recommended from what I understand.

longer answer - yes... but the two cabs do sound different. Both are great but they are not the same. Also by mixing them, you do not get the same multiplying effect that you get by adding more copies of the same cab. That said, my mix of the two does sound great together - bringing the best of each to the party. The 12-3 does put out more sound than the 10-2 so it does tend to be the dominant part of the overall sound of the cabs mixed. I do worry that I would be tempted to push the 10-2 further than it can go (hasn't happened at this point) but splitting the power between three cabs rather than just two would help with any issues there. And the single 10-2 does make a killer tiny rig. Still if you're thinking of dding a third cab to get louder and move more air, the 12-3 would be more effective. If you're just looking at pointing the sound at your ears, a stand might be enough or the 10-2 would certainly help there while also adding a tiny bit more punch to the overall sound.

I still have the cab. Haven't checked on what it would cost to pack/ship it. I was hoping for a more local sale, but I can check into it.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I know it's actually 2.67 but I was just rounding (which isn't actually good for real impedance calculations!).

I will mull on it but for now I'm off the 6x10 solution for now. Thanks for talking me down! :)

Sounded pretty massive! Not gonna go into much detail, I just got home about 30 minutes ago, I'm hungry, tired, and gotta work in the AM. I'll post a few thoughts on Sunday if anyone is interested, ;-)
