Genzler Amplification Club

Thank you for your response. I was blown away by the 800/12-3 combo. It’s more than I really need but that’s never stopped me before. I’m just curious how the MG12TV stacks up against it. I can’t seem to get any real info on the comparison except for one video on YouTube and I don’t know if the shop that had the 12-3 is planning on bringing in the 12TV anytime soon.

‘Tis the holidays, so I’m betting Mr. Genzler is taking some time off (and thus can’t give the definitive answer), but I’d venture to say the big difference between those cabs will be the mid/highs. They both use the same faital woofer in a front vented cab, so the lows are probably close. It’s just if you prefer the tweeter extended top end or the smoothness and clarity that the arrays provide. But that’s just my guess.

@Spupilup --- Thanks for considering our gear. Comparing the 2 cabs ---- the BA12-3 cab will have a bigger LF footprint just because the cabinet is a little larger and ported for lower response ---- BUT that does not mean that the MG-12T-V cab will not hold a B-string with power and authority. As well the mids and top end are more articulate with the BA design and the cabinet does "throw" more. I call the response of the MG-12T-V more "throaty" in the mids and it does provide a little more of the "sizzle" on the top with the tweeter, for those that like there tweeter sizzle, snizzle more in your face.
Regarding you question about your local dealer and "if" he plans to bring in the MG cab. Please PM me and let me see what I can do.

Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!!!! :bassist::hyper::thumbsup:

As an MG12TV owner, and no disrespect to Jeff !!!, my ears/bandmates hear the tweeter adding a very sweet sheen to the sound, not at all harsh, even at 100%. No sizzle/snizzle/in my face! As always best approach is to try one if at all possible.

I didn’t interpret Jeff as saying that the 12T-V highs were harsh, just a bit more pronounced as compared to the BA12-3, but I’m glad to know you are digging that cab. It sure looks nice!

Exactly. Thanks for the assist. The Magellan cab is more smooth on top than most tweeter loaded cabs. Certainly not harsh. I've used that tweeter for over 20 years on a variety of cabs.

Posted this in the Dingwall & GK threads, so now I'm putting it here! Showing some love for all my fave gear! Been wanting to hear my tone out front for a few weeks, our friend Renae shot this on her Note 10. It's not the best, but it's pretty decent for a cell phone vid. This was light night, right before we stopped for the countdown. Please ignore the sloppy playing...thanks. ;-)

Dingwall ABZ 5/3--->GK Legacy 800-->Genzler BA210/BA410 -First time I tried the 210 on top of the 410. I like it both ways. Dingwall is all pups on/in series. There's a couple of other things in the path, but those are the main things!

Well hey Phil, this is Rick, we've met a few times over the years though it's been a while... Nice to see Genzler on stage in the Indy scene.

Hey Rick! How you doin'? It has been a while. Hope things are going well for you.

Yeah, the Genzler rig is pretty unique around these parts. I think folks would flip out if I didn't show up to gigs with a bunch of gear no one's ever heard of, LOL! There is another guy around that has some Genz Benz gear, but I don't think he's gigging too much.

Come out and say hey sometime soon.

Owned a Shuttle 6.0 12T Combo with the extension cab back in the day and loved it. Should never have sold it. Just got the 350 Combo and wow.! Mr. Genzler did his homework. Blown away by what that little cab does. The lows and volume that come from that diminutive cube is amazing. Adding another BA 210 to maximize the thump to keep up with a loud drummer. I've cycled through other brands of amps lately and while they are all good and have their own particular area(s) of notice, I found myself always looking for something that was missing. Genzler is putting out extremely high quality products! Oh, and the customer service......the man calls to verify orders and returns calls about product questions. Unheard of these days! Very well done!

I've had a number of Genz Benz products. The 6.0-12T Combo was my favorite and people loved my sound with it.
I have the MG35012 Combo and it's even better. And yes, CS is unbeatable. I got a call from Jeff on a Saturday morning to talk through a small issue. Amazing. I know Jim Bergantino has a similar reputation - and great gear - but it's just a little too much for my needs. I doubt I'll play anything but Genzler.

I had the Shuttle 3.0-8T and regretted having sold it. It sounded soooo good for being something so tiny. Then came the 350 combo. A little bigger and heavier but so much more of everything. I already had a BA12-3 and a Magellan 800 or a stack with the 350 and 2 or 3 BA10-2’s would have certainly been my path. It would have met all of my needs and more. Indeed, I still toy with the idea of selling the “bigger” gear and picking up one or two more of the 10-2’s. But the BA12-3 sounds soooo good!

Added the other BA 210 to the 350 tonight and noodled for awhile. Very musical! Fantastic amp and speakers. So much thump, volume, and tone from such a small rig. Had to sit down and smoke a cig afterwards it was so impressive. Probably get a third for the outdoor gigs and to leave one at practice to simplify the schlep. The 3rd cab option.....so cool! Just one 10 shy of a 410 with the modular capability to simplify and fit for any gig. Brilliant!
