@RNG1 ---- sorry to say that there are just a few LBS difference between the BA12-3 cabs, BA15-3 SLT and the BA210-3 cabs. The major difference between the BA12-3 and BA15-3 is the form factor. Again this comes down to the "Building Blocks of Tone" discussion. What works for your tonal vision. I will say that all of these cabs do work very well together.

@Tdub77 ---- yes the BA15-3 SLT does bring what you would expect, deeper, wider, fuller LF with all of the articulation you'd expect with the BA. If you are considering, I would think that a 15" under your current stack would really open your eyes and offer even more combinations as needed.

Your killing me smalls. So i really need to keep my 12/3 stack and add the 410 and 15 so I can do everything....

That was last night. Traveling to Cape Cod now for another. I’ll post later.
But, it was a pretty boomy Theater last night. Not sure how the mic’d cab did. However, these arrays sound great 10-20 feet away. Tonight’s room is a 1400 seater so it should be a fun one too.

So how did the Shure beta 52 (?)/mic placement do for that show?

(Edit).... Just got caught up on the previous couple of posts. Well, let's us know what the sound guy thought of the di/mic combo when you get a chance.

The BA 15-3 has aroused my cab GAS.
I'm happily gigging my mag800 with either an genz nx212 or a genz contour 115 with an upgraded 15pr400. ( i love all things genz/ genzler)
I wonder how the BA 15-3 will compare to those 2 and if it would be loud enough to replace both ?
Cant wait for some reviews to start rolling in!!

So last night was the first time out with the MG800. It was in a room we have played many times so I knew I'd be able to hear any change in sounds right away. I have a few quick takeaways....keep in mind the cabinet used was my DNA 2X10. This cab has a big low end, smooth mids and the crossover seems to be in a good spot and the tweeter performs well. EQ for the the MG was set flat with the contour knob all the way off. Bass used was my Peavey TL-Five.

Low End: The Genzler had a tighter bottom end than my previous amp. I knew it would based on the frequency set points. It really made a difference and I was very pleased.

Mids: No complaint here. Combined with the lows I had just a great thump going on. My bass definitely cut through better than it ever has in this room. For our 3rd set, I ended up sweeping the mids to '150' and gave that just a little bump. It was just tonal bliss. It wasn't anything I even needed to do. I could see where this would come in handy in some of the rooms we play that are the big concrete caves etc.

Highs: My old amp seemed to be centered around a higher frequency which led to more "open" top end. The MG definitely made playing up high on the neck "speak" a little more. Another plus!

DI: We had some fellow musician friends in the crowd and they all commented how good the bass sounded in the house system. I was on the mic level setting and it was the perfect signal to the board. Good job Genzler.

I also used the distortion channel on a couple of songs and that was awesome too. Just added that extra dimension that added a good kind of flavor.

Overall everything about the amp was a win. I'll be in another venue tonight we have played a couple of times now and has always been a challenge to dial in a killer sound. I don't think I'll have anything to worry about though!!

My thoughts exactly. I can see myself picking up an SLT for maybe $500 +/- before the year's out. Like I really need it!!! I keep thinking of that thread about gear vs. reality. The problem is, while I may not have a single valid reason to own a second BA12-3SLT, if they can be had for a great price, why not. It's the inversion of the dilemma the OP faced on that thread!

I used the MG800 again last night in one of our typical dive bars. Concrete floors, hollow stage, lots of glass etc. Still through the DNA cab and this time pulled out the Sire v7. Once again, eq flat on the amp and contour off. Same great results. I really love the 'flat' tone of this amp. I used to previously have to really bump the volume and mess with EQ in this room as I realized I've actually been in this room quite a few times. I had the pre-gain knob at about 1 o'clock and the master right around 10 o'clock. This amp just magnifies the right frequencies to help cut through without having to run a ton of volume. The guys in the band are really loving the sound and are pumped up for the new cab as well. Gonna be a long week around here waiting! Definitely a winner!

I play FOH at church. All other playing is practice or for my own enjoyment (not the neighbors) and I have 2 12-3’s pushed by an 800, so I feel ya. I also took 30 years off.
