It impressed me to the extent that I acquired an MG800, as well, to use for live band situations...I'm sure I haven't had the wide experience with amps/cabs as many others, but these are the first amps I've set pretty much flat from an EQ standpoint that have delivered such incredible tone. When I do get the urge to fiddle a bit, the contour knob is killer! OK, enough gushing...

Speaking of acquiring Genzler stuff, my little 350 combo has recently gotten taller. :D

I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit, though...I'm not sure of the "right" way to physically connect the 3 cabs to the amp. I realize that the 3 8 ohm cabs will equal a 2.67 ohm load, and the switch on the back of the amp should be set to reflect that. Here's my question -- should only one of the SpeakON connections on the amp go to the top cab, then the 2nd SpeakON on the top cab to the middle cab, then the 2nd SpeakON on the middle cab to the bottom? When running 2 cabs, I used both SpeakON connections on the back of the amp, and connected one to each cab, but I don't think there is any difference from an electrical standpoint vs. connecting via the 2nd SpeakON connector on the cab. :unsure:

doesn’t matter how you do it - however I go cab to cab with only one at the head so that when I’m using headphones - there’s only the one speakon to deal with...

Quick question, does anyone use a Sansamp
Like a eq of sorts, or use any type of preamp to give the genzler more tonal options? Let me be clear. I’m in love with this amp! I tried out every bass amp there was that was in the real quality gigging amp, I literally bought the Genzler Megallan 800 head with the 15” slanted Array cab without looking at the price! It was that good! My account took a hit but this head an cab WOW! I don’t know how more people aren’t using these! And then again I love it cuz it’s like we all know the worlds best secret and it blows people away when we get to play them. Haha. So I am totally happy with my tone as is. I just didn’t know if anyone used tone coloring pedals or preamps even eqs at all with the Genz. I have a sansamp and I tend to use it when I’m playing with my Fender Jazz cuz I can boost the bass more an make it sound a little more aggressive while still keeping the jazz tone ya know. With my Spector Euro “frickn monster” I basically let its darkglass preamp and the amp do the Jon lol. I will say I have an xotic compressor that I had when I payed guitar. It sounded solid with my bass stuff and I’ve always loved it so I kept it. It’s one hell of a boost, and it makes the ghost notes thump, along with slapping. Idk... thoughts on my setup? Or any or you fine genz headz have a rig similar to what I’m asking about?

Many here - including myself - keep the tone mostly flat - but the Contour is the secret sauce. Just enough flavoring to go in any direction. I have a small board with tuner --> Becos mini comp ---> Broughton HPF/LPF --- DOD Meatbox. Honestly, the best setting is flat with a 10-2/12-3 cab mix. Watch the Nathan Navarro/Genzler on YT for a mind blowing variety of tone. I have the 350 and there's plenty of firepower for anything. Glad you are "in the G house"!

I use Darkglass pedals. A Hyper Luminal, Harmonic Booster and a B7KU for some mild breakup and additional tone shaping before my Magellan 800. Like berman3313 said mostly flat eq and contour to taste. My pedalboard can also do channel switching which is nice with different basses.
