I'm so torn on what array cabs to get eventually, I was thinking just multiple 12-3s but I don't know if it would be smarter to one and done with the 410-3. The whole concept and slant thing really intrigues me.

Good to have anyway. I have three speakon cables and one 1/4 only, and with the adapter you're always prepared.
One and done??? NEVER! The next thing is on the horizon minutes after the credit card is charged for the current thing. Always.

No, Nate uses the BA15-3 SLT under his BA210-3 SLT cab. if you watch his demo of his first GENZLER rig, he really goes through how the BA design has changed how he experiences the instruments he plays through the rig. And I'd say he plays a tone of various basses through his rig for all of his demos and lessons, etc.

I know this is half joke half reality but I actually did pretty good about this after I bought my first Dingwall, been 5 years since I bought a bass. Really just trying to complete my rig with the highest quality stuff within reason that also speaks to me and these cabinets I think will accomplish that.
I never saw that there was a 10-2 option, I might have to go this route. I almost wish the 410 was half slanted like a Marshall 4x10.
Of course what I just said is canceled out by the fact that for the money I've sunk into mods I could've had a second nice bass so you got me on this one anyway haha.
Of course it's a joke but I do love the chase. In fact, sometimes the actual buying of the thing (and it can be smaller stuff like strings, or a pedal) is a letdown. The internet makes it so easy and fun to explore, shop and exchange ideas and things. But I will say, I don't imagine replacing my Genzler gear with anything. I've supplemented it with stuff that is either going to be used in a different location or in a different application. I look forward to more stuff from Jeff down the line that might make my wallet do a little dance.
I truly believe the bass array cabs are in my future for an "optimal" rig. I'm so glad I found my MG800 at a guitar center near me. I A/Bd it against a Markbass head both flat and it was mindblowing. I remember it felt like a blanket was being removed from the cabinet.
Otherwise I probably would've been roped into the Darkglass amps which seem great don't get me wrong but having a B7k and a compressor already I feel like the Magellan can bring it's own character to the table with the contour B and drive circuit.

I've posted a few times here that I was not looking to change from my Markbass rig which consisted of a 15, 210 and MB head (I don't even remember which one). My local dealer told me to just bring my stuff in and give the Genzler stuff a listen. At that time they only had the 12-3 cabs (non-slant) and, like you said, it felt like a blanket was lifted. Each combination of head/cab, MB and Genzler, got progressively better up to the full Genzler stack. It wasn't even really close. And this was using an MG350 and two 12-3s. Now that I've moved to a 15 and 210 and an MG800 I shudder to think what the comparison would have been like. Needless to say, I know you will be amazed with whatever speaker setup you wind up with. They are that good, and then some.
I have no doubt there is other good gear out there that would make me, and lots of people here, very happy. But when you consider the service, which has been nothing short of amazing, and the quality of the gear, it's a very good choice.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you. I'll probably start small with a single 12-3 just to make sure it's really for me and then go from there. I have no doubt that these cabinets could make me invest in a good mic as well for recording.
I saw that video after i posted lol. I love his tone in every style. I regret coming across your gear after I bought my markbass combo, which is sent off for repair after only 8 months of home use...
Plan to sell it when I get it back to buy one of your cabs. Thank you for what you do! I actually have one of your old combos back at my parents place for when we visit.

I've been playing Dingwall basses thru BA cabs for a while now. Every time I think about getting new cabs, I go play a gig with my current cabs, and the thought fades away. The only thing I can see replacing my current stack(BA-210SLT/BA-410) is switching over 3xBA-12/3's. No matter what I run thru them, they always sound killa'!
That’s a good set, too!!! So many good BA options to choose from.
But if you already have the MG800 and the 410-3 and want to add some versatility, the 350 Combo and a 12-3 SLT give so much versatility!!! IMHO

Thanks everyone for the input, I usually use my Spector euro on the neck position which those basses are amazing with the new darkglass preamp in them, but just a lot of thump, not a bad thump tho I just need to learn to dial in I think, and I def think I’m realizing a second cab is def needed. I love the 15” but if I added that second one I feel as though my fx would cut through more, my high strings, and just have more clarity.
my only question is which genzler array to add size wise. The 15” isn’t much more then the 12” and I feel that’s a lot of speaker for not much more money. But in regards to what I want tone wise idk if a second 15 would just be to thumping or would it still help me cut through the mix as I want to. Phaser and envelope filters are best examples I can give of fx being lost by to much low end right now but it still sounds amazing, just want to hear my fx more even the synth has trouble coming through the low end boom. But I want that boom to stay I just want to poke through mix better. I know I’ll get volume but with the megellan 800 I don’t need volume even with a single cab. I want that round sound and to just have all my fx and notes poke through the mix. I think I want to stay with the slanted array cabs for sure they are in a league of their own. Just don’t know which size! Any help would be much appreciated jeff himself has been emailing me helping me choose the right additional cab. I just a tone snob I’ll admit it hahaha

Hello guys, almost all of my musical gear was stolen quite recently, including MG800. At first moment I wanted to sell the BA12-3, the only valuable thing that left, and quit. Luckily I at least tracked down my main bass and electric guitar and with an assistance of police got them back. They were resold already to somebody, so no trace of the amp, whole pedalboard and precious DI box.
Not sure if this is the right thread, but still having the cab I am thinking about myself as a member of this club. To the point - considering whether to get a Magellan again or try something else to pair with the BA12-3. Heresy? The thread became too long since my last visit to read it whole through and searching bits of information. So, do you have any suggestions or opinions. For example, I am thinking about Mesa Boogie Subway (because I was hard time deciding before MG800), maybe one of those smaller Darkglass heads (because it should cover the dirt part of my lost pedals in one package), maybe MG350 (because it is cheaper and would leave some budget for other necessities; soundwise is it really the same as the big brother minus the drive channel?). Getting the MG800 again is still the possibility of course. Any others?

I tried both the subway and the mg800 - both really nice amps. Bought the Genzler and haven’t regretted it. Being able to dial in a usable sound quickly with contour was the deciding factor and now that I’m playing with the drive - it is really really good.
