I'm a little late to the party but I'm finally here. My rig is now complete.
New to me Gen 1 12-3 (thanks @KINGPIN_88) on NeoX 212 loaded with nos oem NX2 Faitals. They sound good on their own but absolutely great together. I'm really impressed how smooth the 12-3 is.

Just messed around with the 12-3 IR on some old projects. its the exact opposite of my 8x10 IR and I love it, don't feel like I have to blend the DI track in bc its plenty aggressive, only adds some slight warmth and color which is amazing! Its just the right amount. Thanks guys! Definitely motivated to record with it tomorrow.
I love pairing old with new. The Bass Array makes the Streamliner sound like a Streamliner, no coloring from the cab, just the amp. Did a gig with this rig on our town common and the sound guy did not patch me into the PA, was plenty loud enough, amp not even pegged.
No excuse now to not switch channels to optimize sections tonally. This design matches nicely as well.
I got one too, but from Saturnworks. As much as I wanted it, I couldn't justify the price for a foot switch. It looks great though.
Anyone know, and sorry if this is a retread, if you run the MG heads with the impedance switch set to 2.67ohm, and into a 4 or 8ohm cab, does the amp put out less power?
I dont really forsee an issue running my MG800 into my BF One10, and I've done things like this before, smartly. Just curious.

Yes the amp will put out less power in that configuration. It will not harm the amp in any way.

How does it affect the array when flipped up that way? Curious minds want to know.
Any Genzler owners also own or previously owned Aguilar gear, specifically tone hammer/SL 112? My brother was over recently and was really impressed by my rig, but wants something a little more “classic” sounding while still being light and portable. I thought that one seemed like a decent recommendation but I’ve never spent a lot of time with them.
My understanding of the array says that the mids and highs will have more dispersion in the vertical plane as opposed to the horizontal plane if the cabinet is in its normal orientation.

I tried the tone hammer years ago and while I know a lot of people like it, the sound was too "mushy" for me. If I was looking for a more "classic" sound I'd use the MG800 drive channel along the "B" contour. Just my opinion of course...

I tried the Traynor 2X10... Can't quite handle all the frequencies.
Will the Genzler slant 10 array 3? Will that handle the high Jaco punch mixed with Geddy Twang and bang?
What are your settings for drive and B for achieving a “classic” sound?

Now I have messed about with the drive channel and the contour a bit, and found a setting I enjoyed that was a bit more old school, but I still had to add bass back in to make up for it. I’ve never been an ampeg 8x10 owner. I have had some other ampeg stuff in the 90’s with better low end than the fridge has.
but I think hi fi is more than just scooped sound. I think it’s timbre and even more importantly, transient response. I’ve never found a setting on the Genzler that really rounded off the attack in any way.
his current amp is a big ole sunn. Mushy, fat, “rounded” warm, might be what he’s going for lol.
I don't have much experience with the drive channel. I picked up a Genzler foot switch and decided to experiment a bit comparing the two channels...still learning. There are others who have posted about how they get a more old school sound so hopefully they'll drop by. I doubt that you could get a "mushy" tone out of the MG800.
My tone goal I would describe as balanced, neutral, smooth, clear, immediate and clean. That's what Genzler gives me in spades. And yes, both the drive and the "B" contour affect bass response, so I can understand that you needed to add some bass back in.
Instead of dispersing on a horizontal axis the tweeters dispersed on the vertical axis making it easier to hear. I was standing right over the cab.

I like the neutral, balanced, bordering on hi fi sound myself. but that's also why i play the bass i play!
I’m running a Mesa D800 through the Genzler TV12 and it’s a nice classic sound. The pair sounds fabulous. I haven’t compared it w the Genzler heads but compared to my GB Shuttle, the Mesa has a more old school sound, less hifi.
