Genzler Amplification Club

Dumb question, but is it safe to run a Magellan 350 without any speaker, basically using it as a DI? Most of the class D heads I’ve used can do it, I read the manual and didn’t see anything saying it was cool. Just want to make sure before I try something.

Yes you can. You can also use it as a headphone amp without a speaker cabinet connected.

A behind stage shot before our shows today!!

Thought I would post this here, because this is where the Genzler love lives!

After searching various music retailer sites used inventory for weeks on end, I keep coming up short on my hunt. Does ANYONE in this thread happen to have a Genz Benz Uber cab that they are willing to part with? If so, I'd be happy to place several hundred dollars in your hands that you can then use on NEW Genzler gear!

Seriously, these cabs seem more rare than hens teeth! I will consider 2x12, 1288, 1x15, 2x10 or 4x10 regardless of ohms, tell me what you've got! Just PM me and let me help you upgrade! Thank you in advance!

While this group is usually a pretty helpful bunch, the Nu Classic cabs have only recently been announced and are not yet circulating in the wild, so only those who were part of the test group will have any experience with them. It might be a little while before anyone can offer insight based on real world experience in comparing the different 212T cabs. I’m sure opinions will be posted once the Nu Classic cabs have reached end users.

Yep, I figured as much, I was more posting to see if those lucky few early testers had any insights so far. I'll keep an eye out for reviews.

Sorry I missed this. Between these 2 cabs listed the MG-212T is doing to be the more aggressive cab with the Neo drivers, especially on the mids. You may like that. The NC cabs will be smoother in the mids, with very deep, tight LF. They both use the same tweeter. MG cabs are more efficient, but the NC have a more organic, earthy tone.
Not to complicate the issue but the Bass Array cabs really reproduce effect pedals and distortion like no other cabs.
If traditional 2×12" cabs are your choice and u have a little time, there are a few TB users that have the NC cabs on order we will he shipping by mid May. More feedback to follow after then.
Hope this is a little helpful.

Thanks for the info Jeff! That's exactly the stuff I was looking for! And yeah, I do love those BA cabs too, and I haven't counted them out, I'm just so use to hearing my stuff through 12's that I'm not sure how I'd get on with 10's (or 15's)...but that 410 BA cab does really look nice...:bassist:

Yeah those single 12's look really sweet, haven't heard them at stage volume on a "rock" stage, but I suspect they holler just fine.....If there was a 212 version of those, I think it would be a no-brainer for me, but I'm kinda stuck on a "one cab" solution if possible...not that carrying 2 cabs is terrible, I'm just trying to minimize my load in/out.

I do hold you personally responsible for my Genzler infatuation that started over in the "Check-in" thread. I got past your Sire but that dang BA cab of yours...
Ha! Glad I could help!! As a side note.....the Sire is gone and I am patiently waiting over the next 4-5 months for my Muckelroy Pro Player 5 string to be built. He's a local guy here in the Austin area and his work is second to none!

Do me a favor and DON'T post how awesome that Muckelroy is! ;):D
