Genzler Amplification Club

I would guess not many on here have played through a pair of BA15-3; and then those who have ALSO played through a pair of BA12-3 is probably a very small group, but the question goes out there anyway...
...just in terms of tone, punch, & slam, how do these two stacks compare (preferably from a 5 string BEADG perspective)?

I can only imagine how good a 15-3 stack of 2 would sound. Good like melty chocolate on top of rocky road ice cream good.
Before Genzler, my cab of choice was the Berg NV15, and I had 2, and they were great together.
I have gigged a 12-3 Genz-mini-stack-of-doom (I've actually gigged 3 once). Everything you'd expect, which is fantastic.

To summarize. if you like 1 cab of something. 2 of that same something is more than 2x better. IME and YMMV

I think two of these would sound amazing. I just wish they made a 15-3 NON SLT and I’d be all over it.

I originally had the choice of yours or the one I went with. Both are great choices, This Satin of mine is a power house. I picked up the Metro UV70 earlier this year. Its was a deal too good to turn down. , As always pairs very nice with the 15.

Man I've had my 12-3 for a couple days, and although I haven't pushed it over moderate house levels, I can say it is just a beautiful sounding cab. After many many rigs through the years, I can finally hear exactly what my instruments sound like. When I plug in my Ric, it sounds like a Ric. Same with my Tbird, J bass with flats, and Stingray 5 HH. It also matches perfectly with my new Bergantino Forte HP. I can't wait to put it through its paces at band practice in the future at some point when my band starts practicing again. Will definitely plan on adding another Genzler I think. I'm not sure whether another 12-3 would cover the kind of volume I'd need for a loud stoner rock band? Thoughts?

I only have a single 15 but also have a pair of 12's. I love the pair of 12's together. The 15 is massive in tone and took a little getting used to. I find it pairs exceptionally well with my Sadowsky UV 70 4 string and my Metro 5 string jazz. I did a pick up jam with a bunch of local pros and they were really impressed with the 15. I think the coupling effect of two 15's would be just that much more massive. You would need a real big and/or loud stage to handle them.

My pair of 12's with the MG800 head handled some real loud guitar centric gigs very easily.

@tombowlus uses a pair of BA15-3 and has run a BA12-3 stack of 3. Check the July 9, 2021 Post #10212.

So the BA15-3 arrived yesterday, very happy. Now have choice of 10/12 or 12/15, or any of the three by themselves. Wonderful! And so easily moved.

I have played through a pair of each - for 3 years live with the BA12-3 pair.
The upper end is the same.
The 12-3 gives plenty of lower end, especially with a pair of them.
I have always liked what 15’s bring to the equation. The BA15-3 pair FEELS to me like a beefier low-end. I have not done any measurements.

@biggredd --- Thanks for the pic. Wow, that is certainly a great stash of UBER cabs. And that is a great Rack Kit you've got for the Magellan 800 head.
Did you get that from Penn/Elcomm?
And interesting how the old and new products look like they just naturally go together. Who would-a-thunk that;).

About the quality. I have owned my 350 combo now for almost 3 years and stack it on one or two other BA 10-2's. Potent, awesome sounding mini-rig. I purchased the 350 combo used. So it had typical wear when I received it. That combined with my schlepping it to gigs and mostly just grabbing it by the handle instead of utilizing the carry bag, it has obtained visible signs of wear over time. The metal corners are scraped up and on the tolex (?) type covering there are scuffs and even white paint transfers from lugging it up and down from the 100 year old narrow basement stairway. It looks like it has been used and well, it has. So I yanked off the grill, the amp, the speakon cable and wiped everything down with a vinyl cleaner type cloth. Wiped out all the accumulated dust behind grill and then wiped everything down with a vinyl protectant. Then I took a black sharpee to all the scrapes, white paint transfers, and even the metal corners and then wiped everything down again. While not flawless, it looks brand new! Not only do these product sound fantastic day in and out, and outperform their perceived stature, the fit and finish holds up to the purpose that they were intended for. Great stuff Mr. Genzler.
