Genzler Amplification Club

I have owned it tried almost every genz or Genzler bass products and continue pushing for a Magellan with a tube preamp and 2nd semi parametric mid. Not to be annoying but, because I think there is a market for it. The Magellan, to me, is the best of the bunch. But, the streamliner definitely had the sweeter sounding preamp section, preset scooped curve excluded. Hopefully that is in the works.

I’d buy one for sure.

Another great sound at our regular restaurant/lounge, this time with the MG800 into a pair of BA10-2s. Superb, punchy, clear tone that fits perfectly in the mix. Unfortunately the restaurant has been sold and will close September 30th. The new owners apparently plan to tear down the building and put up a high-rise condo in it's place. That's progress for you.

I did order a pair of MG12T-Vs. One is arriving next Wednesday and the other is backordered until October. I'll be comparing the pair of MG12T-Vs to the BA10-2 pair, and will try putting a BA10-2 on top of an MG12T-V with a Gramma pad in between for stability. Not sure how my OCD will cope with the mismatched cabs, but if they sound good together I'll deal with it.

I am bumping the rough EQ positions of the mid sweep knob just in case it is helpful to anyone/they don't want to have to search for it.

The CONTOUR circuit is has NO impact to the frequency response when it is in the full OFF position ----- the control all the way to the left.
And regarding your questions about frequency locations around the mid control, here is an approximation. We with all pot controls there are some variances when rotating the control.
9:00-->200Hz; 10:00-->300Hz; 11:00-->500Hz; 12:00-->650Hz; 1:00-->800Hz; 2:00-->1KHz; 3:00-->1.5KHz.

As always I recommend using your ear for fine tuning frequencies to cut or boost.

Thanks for this reminder. I've been so happy with everything set at noon with no Contour, I haven't really tried different settings. It's time to see what other tone gems reside in the MG350/800 amps!

beautiful Sadowsky. I had on a while back, sadism green, pearl guard and rosewood board. Amazing bass. One of like 3 I wish I had back. I don’t do “jazz” bass much anymore, passive P and my active 5, but I’d probably do a little more if I had that bass back.

And…..I don’t know what my problem is but I’ve dropped my MG 800 (while in the bag) about 5 times in the last 3 months. Took a pretty good fall last night while loading out. Haven’t pulled it out yet to take a look, but I’m sure it’s fine. (Fingers crossed)

I can't imagine why.... Interesting bass you have there.

I pander to our sponsor in exchange for free goods. ;)

Are you using your 4 on the Floor as an "always on" drive enhancement? I see you have it in 1st gear.

Yes. Although now that the crazy summer schedule is slowing down, I’m going to rethink my pedalboard and incorporate the foot switch for the 800 to get some layering options. I don’t need a lot of overdrive/distortion in my current band but there are a couple songs where I’d like to nudge it up a little bit.
