I highly recommend a stack of 12-3 straight and 12-3 slant.

Love my 12-3 trio. I have str - slt - str.

If I were to change it - I’d likely go slt-str-slt.

A couple guys on here are really liking the 15-12 stack but like you it would drive me nuts. I’d either have to go all 15’s or 15 and 210….

I have just the 15-3, and it is glorious! @Joeykun can chime in on characteristics of the 15-3, 210-3 stack. That will be my next move when I want to add to my 15-3, which fills so many of my needs at this time.

BA15-3 at each jam space. Can't wait to stack them.

Thanks a lot for your feedback everyone! But, as I already feared, it seems like a standoff between a second 12-3 and a 15-3.

I got to spend some more time on thinking about my needs and, taking my circumstances into account, I believe a slanted 12-3 would be the more rational buy. I could pair it up with my existing 12-3 without going nuts over the mismatch.
With the 15-3 I would be "forced" to get another 15-3 or 210 down the road, which would mean another couple bucks invested into gear. But it is still extremely tempting to get one of these. GAS is real.

So, this happened today:

I opted for the slanted 12-3 in the end. Theres a Magellan 800 in the box on the top. I'll be testing it out this evening. I think I'll schlep the second 12-3 along, just for giggles :hyper:

Well, it's (semi) official. I'm going with a pair of MG12T-Vs and my Nu Classic NC112 is up for sale in the classifieds. I really like the tone of the NC112...warm, smooth, full. I was able to tame the mids a bit in the MG12T-V (although they have their place) to get somewhat close to the NC112. The lower weight and ability to make the MG12T-V into a combo tipped the scales. Although, the NC112 is also an easy carry. So this is where I'm at until Jeff changes my mind or I get another G.A.S. attack.

That is a heckuva deal. Someone should jump on that very quickly.

I think that’s a solid choice.

Agree, I started with a pair of 10-2s, added a 112TV, and will likely sell one of the 10-2s as I like the extra depth the 12 adds, and don't need 3 cabs. Will likely keep using the 10-2 set up as a combo, because I love the way the combo packs into the case. But the 10-2 combo on top of the 112tv just kills.

I ran that combination for a while. Even though those cabs aren't designed to go together, they make a great stack. I would have been perfectly happy sticking with that combination.

Yeah if I was compulsive about appearance/stacking it wouldn’t last but they sound great together
I thought the 15/12/10 stack would bother me, but I have grown to like my Leaning Tower of Genzler. I can use 1, 2, or all 3 with either MG350 or 800.

It’s good to see another person who’s tried mixing those two series’. I just got a 12-3, with the intention of adding a 112tv for the most tonal/weight/dispersion options, and I was really hoping they would match up well.

I’ve been gigging a pair of MG12T-Vs for a couple of years now and couldn’t be happier. I’m ok with the mids. They really cut through some acoustically difficult rooms for me. Load in and out is stupidly easy. Enjoy!

And a pic of last evenings rehearsal. I took the picture right after setting up the rig but before fiddling with the knobs. The new slanted 12-3 is on the bottom, my old 12-3 on top. Notice the rubber feet on the side of the old 12-3. It is the old version with the handle on the side. I actually prefer this setup to the new recessed handle on the top, as it is easier to carry around. The original design only lacked additional rubber feet on the side in my opinion, which I added later myself.

The sound was positively thick! The little tower delivered a broad bass sound with authority into every nook and cranny of the room. I ended up about 2 meters away to the side of the cabs and still hear me loud and clear.
I left everything at noon, and added a little bit of contour A (about 9 o'clock). Gain and master were set realy low, because we're rehearsing at very low (and pleasing!) volumes.
When I kicked in the drive channel for a round (maxed out gain, because why not?), my drummer started giggling. He loved it.

I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

My long National nightmare has come to an end. Sold the bastardized NC212-T on Sunday and ordered a replacement through the Genzler site on Monday that was already delivered today. Nice!

I’ll let it warm up a spell and put her through her paces but I rest easy knowing this cab will sound the way it’s supposed to.

Ok. An hour of warming up was enough.

I’m just gonna say I love this sooooo much more. The moment I played the first note, I could tell the difference. A focused yet full and deep tone that is very pleasing to me. That low end was missing in the other batted up cab which was more akin to the MG cabs due to how low-mid focused it was.

I took a bit of a hit selling the other cab because I was honest in what the person was buying. So, win:win as far as I’m concerned! Can’t wait to gig it!

Curious as to how the 212T compare to you 15+210 BA stack.

Comparing the NC212-T to the BA stack is like comparing a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 to a current day Corvette.

The 212 is commanding and direct and will get the job done in a way that makes you and those around you smile.

Whereas the BA stack will make you hold on for your life as you feel every component of it working together to explore the outer reaches of technology all while exposing just how much work you need to do on your skills. It’s beautifully unforgiving in its clarity, powerful as all get out, and sexy as heck!

Love a good car analogy..... I used to have a Dodge Dart with a 440, now have a 6 speed Corvette.

Are you running a 210 Straight or Slant?

Nice cars! That’s almost a perfect analogy for you then!

I’m using a straight 210. I like how the array lines up on top of the slant 15 versus further pivoting as it would with two slanted cabs.
