To my ears, two BA10-2 do make a big difference due to the coupling and with the angle what we have is a real array using an array ha ha. Adding the 2nd one increases the bass response. I think what you hear as "zing" quite possibly may be due in-part to setup/bass as well as the array response bringing about an increased mid-high clarity. I haven't had time to try but a couple of basses with it, but they are notably different sounding basses with different strings, and of course the cab brings that out; one bass deep low sounding and the other more modern high-end.
I think once the speakers get broken in you will notice quite a change; I feel as these low drivers are a bit stiff and I assume that it the nature of the beast so as to achieve a particular design response. Once the drivers open up, it should be much smoother. I noticed this on a 210 I had from a different manufacturer as well and once it had been played for a while it really opened up nicely. I think when you add the 2nd cab you will be pleased at the difference.
