Two 12T-Vs do look and sound great. But you're correct in that one is more than enough for the small rooms we play. I only used 2 for outdoor gigs.

The box has a manufacturer date of 2019, so I am not all that concerned. it sounds so good, and that is all that matters!
Or you just may want to get a correct badge from Genzler. Jeff will take care of you.
I'd go with the that, versus a gamble that anyone would want to pay more for an incorrect badging, if you want to sell the cab in the future.

But seriously, my son is playing in an original, tuned down metal band and needs to get a something better than his 150 watt Fender 115. They tune down to C and he runs a dirt pedal pretty much all the time. He’s competing with his guitarist’s 412.
It needs to fit into the backseat or trunk of a 2011 Chevy Malibu. Also, he’s 19 but seems to hurt his back a lot so I was thinking light or modular. I was going to lend him my Magellan 800 and Berg HD112/212 stack for an upcoming show but he doesn’t want to deal with moving the 80lb HD212 (neither do I these days).
Thinking a Magellan or Nu Classic 212 but not sure which one is voiced better for tuned down metal? He’s not a gear guy and I’m out of the loop on bass gear not to mention I have no idea what kids are using for that sort of music these days.
Any recommendations are welcome. Cheers!

I would absolutely agree but not sure he could fit two 212’s in his current sedan. I’ve told him if he wants to be metal god he needs a vehicle to haul around the gear of a metal god. Lol!
Stack them horizontal in the back seat. Rear view mirror is highly overrated anyway.
But seriously, the Magellan. IIRC it goes a little lower and handles a bit more power.

I have a bass player friend who wanted another cabinet and I always recommend looking at Genzler cabinets.
So, he tells me that he played a gig the other night and was playing through a new cabinet with his powerful Bugera Veyron MOSFET. He was totally impressed with the size, sound and the fact that he was pushing it with his Bugera without issues.
He then reveals that he was using his new BA10-2!
My reply was, “I told you!”’.

I'm not playing metal exactly, but sometimes realy hard rock with occasional heaps distortion. For reference: The most metal stuff we're playing is Word Up by Korn. I run my 5 string (with plenty of B string usage) through Darkglass Vintage Microtubes and B3K clones into my Maellan 800 with a single slanted BA 12-3 cab. Plenty of punch and presence in my setting! I add a second straight BA12-3 for shows and the audience swims in juicy bass tone
For full disclosure: We are only a 3 piece band (drums, guitar, bass) and my guitarist is a rare breed that understands the concept of sharing sonic space for the greater good instead of caring too much about "his sound".

if he’s using distortion- I’d go BA cabs. The paper cone mid/tweeter array handles distortion tones really well without getting fizzy. The 12 or the 15 will get to the low notes and I use my 12’s regularly with my low B… I would go with 2 of the 15’s in this case (or maybe 3 of the 12’s which what I’m actually using).
I also use three 12-3's in a hard rock/metal situation. (Though, is 80's metal really "metal"?)... I've also used the 350 combo on top of one and sometimes two 12-3's and that worked. Never wanting for volume. And if volume becomes an issue maybe tell your son that less is often more. Either way with any combination of cabinets that I have (12's only, or the 10-2 + a 12-3), am plenty happy with how the low b is handled.

I'm trying to move my 210 and 15 bass arrays and I've had absolutely no action on them. Both for $1500 seems like a decent deal to me. I guess everything resale is just slow these days...especially around the holidays. I see the same ads pop up over and over.
I have the cabs at my local Norcal store on consignment as well. I'd take a tremendous hit if they sell there but they have them listed quite high right now. I bought them there so they know the gear well.
Any suggestions would be appreciated and happy holidays everyone! Happy to be keeping my Magellan 800 head. It really is a winner.

I've had a heck of a time trying to sell anything right now. I think the holiday's and economic concerns over a recession are really hurting sales.
