Does anyone here use other heads with their Genzler Cabs?

I have a ba2-15-3SLT and I am currently looking for a good deal on a ba2-210-3SLT.

Hadn't considered a head yet but my GK MB Fusion 800 is now approaching 8 years old.

Is it Genzler all the way or bust?

Sounds like someone is looking for and excuse to get a new amp. But seriously, IMHO the BA cabs make just about anything sound "good." The Magellan 800 is an outstanding amp. That said I'm using a Mesa Subway D800+ with my BA12-3 & neoX 212. This combination works very well for my needs.

Flirting with the idea of a stereo configuration using two BA-12 cabinets, so seeking opinions.

I normally stack the BAs for the height and vertically aligning the arrays, however, you know, stereo is typically a left/right experience

My 80's point of reference comparison will be a stereo boom box. I could listen to it while laying down and still hear separation.

I sometimes just want to hear my flanger f l a n g e and my phaser p h a s e. Is that so wrong?

Hey y’all….thoughts and opinions needed. I have a long time amigo out in So Cal that has a Fearless F115 cab and I’ve got him looking into the MG800. His worry is will he have enough juice to really drive that cab if necessary….I said it should push that cab easy enough but since I’ve never used one, who knows. I have heard they get plenty loud but I also told him I thought if he wanted to get super loud etc. he would be better off adding more speaker area than trying to get a lot of watts to try and push the single 15. Thanks y’all…many of you know much more than I!

Just to add to what others have said; I have that same driver in a custom built cab, and my MG800 gets plenty loud with it, and yes, I do believe if I drove it hard turned up all the way that the majic smoke that makes that cab work would escape - or blow the driver into little bits. In other words, plenty of power. That said, I often add another cab, mostly for tone.

A properly designed cab is designed to reproduce that which is input. A properly designed amp is designed to amplify the input signal. So yes, a good cab should be able to be utilized with any good amp. And yes, I have used multiple combinations. That said, I play live with my MG800.

For bass array cabinets, are they any do’s/don’ts for combining different speaker sizes? I know phase cancellation is an issue with traditional cabs, but idk if that logic also applies to bass array cabs. And what would the benefit be of having different speaker sizes be, given that most of the mid/hi range comes from the line array?

I have my rig in stereo with two BA-12s and sometimes a BA-15 or sometimes one of each. I still stack them vertically because my IEMs provide the stereo experience, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with the speakers spread out. Even vertically, it increases the sense of space with reverbs, delays, stereo chorus, etc. An H90 is a beautiful thing!

Does speaker count need to match as well? I know traditionally mixing a 410 with a 115 doesn’t work well for example, but with the line array and crossover at 800hz idk if that’s still an issue with the bass arrays.

I'll be generating stereo effects through my new HX One, and already considering a second. Picturing a Preamp/DI into a pair of Ones out to matching micro heads powering the two BA cabs

close. I have skated in enough barns north of the border as a kid to nearly count for citizenship though. Recently retired after 20+ refereeing HS and college hockey in the SW US.

Frankly, either one would be a good choice but you really should try them both because one may suit your personal tastes over the other. Nobody can accurately predict your preferences.
