As I recall, Jeff has always suggested treating 2.67 ohm as the minimum load. Boy, favorite Genzler cab is tough! I have been really loving the NC115/NC210 stack of late, but I will have to go with the BA115-3 SLT (or better yet, two of them!). I have not tried any of the series 2 Bass Array cabs, but I've tried all of the prior Bass Array cabs. They all offer up something a little different, and while I definitely loved the 410 and 210, in the past, I kept being more taken in by the triple BA112-3 stack. Then, when I added one BA112-3 SLT to the mix (with two BA112-3's), I liked that even more! But once I picked up a pair of the BA115-3's, that dethroned my triple 12 stack - though it was a close fight! That all being said, I can absolutely see where other players might prefer the voicing/presentation of the 410/210.

I am really looking forward to checking out the Series 2 BA cabs someday. You really can't go wrong with any of the Genzler cab options! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist: :thumbsup:

What characteristic of the BA115-3's swayed you over the 112 stack? Depth? Smoother across all freqs?

I continue to derive much pleasure from my BA112-3 SLT pair. If a pair of 10-2 Series 2 can match that tone at moderate volumes, I'd consider those.

Ya know this is what I’m kicking myself in but for. I shoulda went for genzler 2x10’but I got a great deal on a Mesa Subway. An it’s not bad at all now I’ve learned how to really use the eq on genzler. I was using the frequency really all wrong. Now it’s a lot better but I still just wonder if changing the darkglass pre would be better for moving forward. A better more flat sounding or less colored pre like then Bart NTMB I wonder would it be really be the move to do as well. Tbh I’m impressed with turning down the DB on tweeters an really taking the freq down an learning the curve of the dark glass pre helped a lot but still NOT QUITE there so idk whether to keep the cabs I have. OR pre. I have as mentiend the Mesa subway 2x10 and a genzler array/STL series 1 1x15 cab. I shoulda gotten the dang 2x10 of genzler at the time but as said I got a much better deal an no shipping to deal with for the mesa so I gave it a shot. I may go back to genzler 2x10 I’ve thought about Bergintino to but I feel like either would be great.

Man I’m like just behind you in my learning years an im a hard head who has to hear or learn hard way I guess Haha. I got the mess
Cab a now I took time to stop buying stuff a listening to, to many opinions a just learn my gear cause I knew the genzler head was great for almost all tone options. I really love that bergintino sound but I also think it’s been my lack of Knowledge that kinda kept me from some things. Now I don’t know if the darkglass pre will really let me get the tone I want. An I get that on stage cabs are really bass stage monitors but as you said I like hearing the tone the crowd is hearing an in a jam type improv band I feel it’s really important to hear all the bass mix not just the low end cause the guitars dotn use a lot of power chords in this genera so
I’m learning a lot of the bass players here used nice alembics an tuby clean sounding flat eqs using the tubs for breakup vs distortion annit was like they could be somewhat rhythm guitar an bass at same time. Idk hard to explain. But I’m getting there now understanding actual sound now

As long as it isn't Bass Array Series 3, I'm looking forward to seeing Jeff's latest creations!

Someone mentioned a Genzler "Neo-Pak." That made me smile, as a former Neo-Pak player. It could very well be an amp with a tube front end. There is much precedent for that.

Hmm, that post disappeared. So it can be my speculation going forward, anyway.

I don't think it's another pedal product, somehow. I also don't think it's more straight Bass Array cabs, although I know Jeff has answered lots of queries about those, including from me, on the 10s and the 15s.

The 15's a bit bigger/deeper in the lows, but still very controlled and not bloomy. Also, it might just be an aural illusion (possibly due to more midrange to upper midrange from the 12's), but the BA115-3 SLT's also sound a bit more open up top for me.

Man, I would love to see a Genzler take on a compressor pedal. That's not what's coming, but it's what I'd love to see down the road sometime.

A quick/1176 style section plus an opto/LA-2A section, the ability to put either one first in the chain, and the ability to parallel it all with the dry signal. And nevermind the price, go for the best you can make happen in a pedal format. Or a 1U or 2U rack format, for that matter. Oh, I dare to dream!

hey guys, so the unit on the teaser on the Genzler Facebook page is stamped "Tube Bass Pre amp" now do you guys think this is a preamp unit or a head with hybrid tube preamp?

Either way, I've been digging my Laney Digbeth (granted, not a true hybrid head), and Fuchs FBT so much that I wanted to try out other flavors in the hybrid tube head space there were, so I was close to shopping for a Milkman Half and Half, or Fender Bassman 800, but it's safe to say that is on pause for now until I see what's in store for us on Tuesday (4/30)!

That's really the only thing missing from their pedal series, They've got the EQ, Drive, and Pre-amp steps down, a comp would make for a complete Genzler signal chain on a board!
