Yes, we were at the beach for my wife's birthday, but Saturday was a total wash out, so I took a ride to Russo's music in Asbury Park. It's a great shop.

I used my MG800 as a Eq'able DI today @ a mega church gig. it was Awesome
I was experiencing a crackling note (kinda like it broke up) when playing through my Magellan 800 this morning. I recently put TI Flats on my Landing bass (which has a single Darkstar pickup). Playing it in church this morning through my Berg HDN112. Normally I play finger style, but wanted to hear the flats when played with a pick.
Anyway, there was an occasional "broken up" sound coming when I hit a certain note (maybe 5th fret on D string). I was playing through the clean channel, and no overdrive pedal. I heard it several times while playing a warmup song... guitarist did too. I then realized that the volume control on my bass was turned to less than 1/2 way. I turned the volume on the bass up, and decreased the volume on amp a bit, and no longer had this "breaking up" sound when playing with a pick. It's interesting that I didn't hear it happen when I was playing finger style (even with the original volume knob setting on the bass)... just noticed when using a pick, with volume on bass set to less than half.
Anyway, I'm wondering if having the volume on bass turned down too low can cause an issues with the amp. I tried various settings on the Berg's crossover, and it seemed OK (once I had the volume knob on the bass higher). I don't think it was fret buzz. Maybe its something due to the signal from a Darkstar?

The noise is probably coming from your bass, not the amplifiers. Volume pot my be a little dirty. That's my guess.

Yes I would say that the amp was probably amplifying something on the bass. Certainly check it out further and let me know.

I checked out a Genzler amp through a Berg HDN112 this morning with a couple of different basses. I don't think think your problem was due to the amp/cab but due to your bass. But I do suggest running another bass through the setup to be sure.

Can't see it in this pic, but I used the Baby Genzler rig for this gig. The MG350 amp was loud, and there were two guitarists. I had to keep asking the guitar player next to me was I too loud. The dummies even let me sing.
I thought the Genzler club would be the first to know a MG212T is available in the classified!

OK, I tried my Magellan 800 with a different bass (Dingwall Super P) and did not have any "breaking up" sound issue. So I tried again with my Landing bass... I found that I could get the "breaking up" sound to occur with pick or fingers. But I think that it's probably the tone control on this bass, not the volume control. If I had the tone control at 10, then no matter where the volume was on the bass, I didn't get any breakup to occur. But if I had the tone control set to 8, I could get it to break up... and if the tone was even lower, then it was easier to get it to break up. I'm wondering if I have a bad capacitor on the tone control for the bass? You don't hear any crackling sound sound when you rotate the controls on bass.

Get a can of DeoxIT, clean the pots and contact points on the output jack, check all the solder connections. I doubt if your capacitor is bad, but I could be wrong. Or just dime the tone control and don't worry about it.

Thanks for the suggestions on my tone control problem... I do have a can of DeoxIT, so will give that a try. I hadn't been playing this bass recently, but put some TI flats on it, and was interested in hearing it with a pick. So that's what caused me to decrease the tone setting (which I had previously always set to 10)
I was asked to fill in with a praise band at a huge church this past weekend and took only my Genzler 800 and one of my 210-3 Arrays and used the DI out for added support. They recorded all the music and let me just say that the Genzler and Array sounded amazing when I went back and listened to the recording. This setup never fails whether I use 1 or both of my 210 arrays. Several people complimented that was the best bass tone they've heard.
Does anyone know of a quality cover available for the 10-2 array cab? The one offered by Genzler has extra space to accommodate the 350 head/combo version, but I'm looking for a padded cover for the cab alone........too lazy to measure up myself and hoping one of the reputable cover makers is already on this....

Regarding the sound breakup... was not my amp. I think the one of the leads on the cap (soldered to back of tone control) was bent so that it was probably touching the can on the pot. I gently bent it a bit so it was further from the case, and now the issue appears to have fixed itself.
I think @lomo is looking for a cover for the smaller cab, the 10-2, not the 210-3. The nomenclature can be a bit confusing.
I'm also looking for a cover for BA10-2 cab only. Last month i talked with Tuki and LeCover and they can make it but i would be the first, and like Lomo i'm not interested in being the guinea pig. Don't know if someone has taken the plunge since i contacted them. I also mentioned to Jeff G that i thought there would be interest for a cab-only cover for those not using the complete Magellan combo or carrying case.
