Genzler Amplification ! New Genz Benz ?

I'm not trying to start anything, I'm really curious. I can't imagine when you'd need all that power. Don't you ever use a PA?

My Shuttlemax 9.2 through a pair of fEARful cabs (which use high xmax pro PA subwoofers) often produces much cleaner bass in the room than the PA can... Depending on the PA, subs, and who's behind the board.

Anecdotal example: At the last loud outdoor gig I did with full PA support, the sound guy ended up leaving me out of the mains because he said I sounded so much better from the stage... and he's a bass player whose day job is live sound.

I was a proud Genz Benz endorser. Solid products and the best service/support in the industry. Very interested in what Genzler will come up with. Everything can be improved!

For me, the heft and thickness of the Streamliners was terrific, but I'd prefer one fixed mid range eq and one sweepable rather than the old config. That being said I'll happily gig the STM as is.

I still have a ShuttleMax and agree it's a great amp. Knowing Jeff, he'll top it though because he always does

With regard to amp heads: I'm wondering how many "flavors" are in the works. If one of their offerings has a minimal set of controls, and can produce 700+ watts, I'm very interested in checking it out in person.

My amp, a MoMark 500 into two Bergantino HT112ER's, has worked perfectly for 95% of the gigs I've played. On occasion, I feel as if my dynamics are being squashed when I'm playing a sustained, loud tune with a quartet. Even when I turn up, it still feels as if I'm hitting a padded ceiling- never distorting or "farting out". (I set my eq close to flat) It could be the limiting MB employs, but I feel like I could use more than the 500w on tap.

I love my Streamline and SM9.2. .I gig the SM 5 days a week.. .Sometimes ill mix it up with my rack rick.... But I still LOVE my GBE1200 EQ section...

You could also be hitting power compression with the speaker cabs. More power won't help that, just make it worse.

Bass forum and all but, what about acoustic amplification?

A bandmate of mine uses a 210 Shenandoah, it would be tough for him to replace if something were to ever happen.
Plus the other guy needs a Genz so we would all match.

Speaker power compression is not just a thermal problem, there are electro-mechanical and electro-magnetic components to power compression as well.

I agree. I used to have a couple SWR Goliath Jr's and you would think more power would make them louder? Nope. Got even quieter! I used one with a GK MB150 and it was louder than when I used 2 with 500w.
