Genzler Amplification ! New Genz Benz ?

I had an amp issue last week...
I was talking with Jeff Genzler and he asked if he could send me the new Magellan 800 to play and give some feedback. that was a save!
He was very kind and sent me Prototype #1 to use... Thank you . It was a surprize.

If this is what a prototype looks like I'm amazed! I expected a Black box with wires hanging out of it.. . Well it looks real NICE .
I'm Looking forward to seeing the actual units when all the bodywork is finished, because this looks so nice being just a prototype, i can imagine what the finished product will be like. .. . Feels rugged too..

In my personal opinion, it is Somewhat like a cross between a Streamliner and Shuttle.. . More towards the streamliner with the brushed aluminum and machined aluminum face and body.. I want to say it's like a refined Shuttle? Or perhaps like a more versatile Streamliner?

This one has a prototype long bat switch for the 8/4 Ω to 2.6Ω convert ... Yes it will work on THREE 8Ω cabs or.... One 8Ω + One 4Ω at the same time.. NICE...
Im taking care of business today . but will run it on 4 different gigs this week ...

I have an amp issue too.........:D

I think the point was that the new Mesa amps are selling well so all that discretional GAS money may be gone by the time the new Genzler amp comes out.
I have yet to see a new, really great and well-received amp come out and people not buy it because they bought something else that just came out. Lot of people buy and flip and buy... and maybe flip...

When you think it appropriate, I expect a GB - MB comparison post. :-)

Do you mean sound wise or look wise?

I am interested to see how this comes out. I have always been an SVT player but at a gig last month there was provided back line which included a Streamliner. I was very impressed with how it sounded and if the product is close to the same I would consider picking one up for smaller gigs when I'm too lazy to lift.

Kirk,

Glad to hear you're having a chance to review the prototype. I also wanted to thank you for your comments/reply about the Uber cabs. I had been playing Mesa amps and road cabinets for 30 years and added four Uber cabs and a SM 9.2 about a year and a half ago.
I've been so pleased with the sound and quality of Genz gear!
Looking forward to hearing about your thoughts on the new amp!

Just pulled the trigger on 2 BA12-3:

Mighty impressed. Handled last night's nightmare scenario of 6 guitarists and one keyboard player on stage at the same time with absolute competence and confidence:

Highly recommended!
