Maybe they're hosting a boy scout party?Has anyone actually been “stranded” in their homes for so long as to justify 6 gallons of milk and 5 loaves of bread “just in case?”

Amen to that! Remember the large garbage can heaters?![]()
I like ham, limas, and creamed chipped beef on toast points. And, no, I'm not a lifer. I'm just strange. What I remember is eating the C-rat cookies first, then using the can from them with a heat tablet to make a stove to heat the C-rat meal....I also remember gagging down ham and limas because there wasn't going to be any more food for awhile.

Smart move! Then there’s this Jacksonville Florida guy who doesn’t want his smart car to blow away. So he moved it into his kitchen.

Must be the day for Doors music.I wonder if it could fly with the doors open in a storm.
I'm speaking here of the C-rat version. I did like SOS in the mess hall. C-rat spiced beef and noodles was great. Ham and mothers was probably invented by someone who hated humans.I like ham, limas, and creamed chipped beef on toast points. And, no, I'm not a lifer. I'm just strange.![]()

I think we were eating the stuff shipped over from Vietnam. They came in green cans. The drill sergeant in basic said that the cans were placed in large slow cookers and cooked for 8 hours, and because all the nutrition was contained in those cans, they were good for you. I loved them all, even the lima beans. I don't smoke so I always got extra limas in exchange for cigarettes in the kits. Evidently you weren't the only one that hated them!I'm speaking here of the C-rat version. I did like SOS in the mess hall. C-rat spiced beef and noodles was great. Was there any kind of metallic taste to it (the nutritional cans)?...all the nutrition was contained in those cans, they were good for you...
Nope. There seemed to be some kind of clear coating on the inside of the cans. But I know my memory on this is clear-- they really were delicious to my tongue! I think maybe @mikeoso can also chime in if the cans tasted metallic to him and if he remembered any clear coating inside the cans. Was there any kind of metallic taste to it (the nutritional cans)?
The caption on this said "Florida man buys 100 generators for Bahamas." He's gonna ruin "Florida Man's" reputation.![]()
A good song with mood. Ray filling in the blanks. He sez that the bass guitar part is difficult. Never tried it, maybe there’s a tuning.
Coating, yes. Metallic taste...well, the ham and limas tasted like nuclear waste, does that count? Will's pic has beanie-weenies, which was not bad. The can with the crackers is what we made the stove out of. Punch a few holes near the bottom, drop in a lit heat tab or pinch of C4, place main meal on top. TheNope. I have a permanent ganglion cyst on my left wrist from playing that song. One of these days I'll have to have it removed but for now it serves as a stark reminder of why I never want to play it again. View attachment 3530394
Cs were one one of our deadliest weapons, if thrown with sufficient force and accuracy.

It's not painful as long as I don't play "Riders On The Storm." I was going to have it drained but the recovery time would have put me out of commission for a couple of week so I decided to just leave it.Ouch! Talk about sacrificing self for art. I guess I'm not that dedicated.
