Real soul, all about the feeling.
A horn player can do some damage to their mouth if one zigs when the others are zagging. They have a hard enough time with their teeth being pushed in when they are simply playing.
Having 7 horns eliminates having to schlep a B-3 and Leslie.
Our guitarist who plays the lead on "Sleepwalk" has it down so well that I had forgotten the original was on a steel. I'm certain the audience can't tell the difference. BTW, just for grins, after one chorus of SW, we go into an instrumental rendition of Brenda Lee's "I'm Sorry", with 'I'm sorry' being spoken in 2-3 languages, then back to to the bridge of SW and out.

does your guitar player use a slide or a tremolo and bends?
English(with a 'whistling' lisp), Japanese, and Spanish.
Just bends-and Hawaiian style chords.
e kala mai iaʻu (Please forgive me) in Hawaiian would go with the guitar playing. Interesting that old Hawaiian doesn’t have a word for sorry.

I used to play a Vox Continental into a Leslie 147(?). That was more than enough. Hand truck and furniture dolly.

A portable stereo record changer. So you could host a dance party and nobody would have to mind the record player. At some point, some kids established a links between what they heard on the radio, records they can buy and play (so they don't have to wait for someone else's decisions with the radio), and making records of their own.

Built-in. My very first band, in Junior High School, the keyboard player used his reel-to-reel as an amp!

I have a Hammond BCV and two 147’s that get stacked. They don’t go anywhere without cartage.

OooOoo! I bet that really was a winner, for it's time. You could probably re-record your 8-tracks to reel-to-reel, at least for backup? Or, [gasp!] could you record 8-tracks from reel-to-reel?!?!?
It was after High School that the lead guitarist of my 4th, or 5th, band came home from college with a little 8-track recorder deck!!! It kinda looked like below, but with no radio, and no speaker. Had to plug it into my stereo for playback. And, for lack of a microphone at the time, we plugged our guitars into it and got some very psychedelic distorted tones.
Then he recorded some of my albums onto a couple cartridges and left never to be seen again.
