I have to waste time this afternoon renewing my driver's license, it's photo time. I'm nostalgic for when you didn't need a photoID. The civil servant behind the counter would type out the details on a piece of paper and hand it to you. Life was simpler and a lot less expensive.

And you didn't have to suffer for years with a crummy picture ID.
It went well today. I went to a new place, about a 40 minute walk from home. I was in and out in ten minutes. I kept standing there thinking that there must be something else. The girl had to tell me twice that we were all done. Not sure how the photo turned out, they will mail that.

...I renewed my drivers license a couple of years ago. New photo and all that. Back in July , I got a notice from the MVA (motor vehicle administration) that if I didn't come back to the MVA with a whole bunch of documentation , including birth cert, current vehicle registration , and two proofs of residence (bills sent to me in my name) my license would be recalled and suspended. This was all due to the "real I.D." garbage that started several years ago. Without it being a "real I.D." you can't board a plane after sometime in 2020 nor enter into any federal building. My license already had the star on it which meant supposedly it qualified as a "real I.D." but they magically had issued it to me without the proper documentation. This could have turned into a real fiasco If the MVA hadn't fixed their computer. When I first moved here and changed my address (18 years ago) the MVA computer and the printer that they sent out mail to weren't quite connected. My mail comes to a PO box. MVA has to have both address and the PO box to send me my mail and if any part of that is incorrect , the post office won't deliver government mail. My street has a rather long name and while there were enough digits in the computer to record it all , their printers fell two digits short. For a couple of years , we didn't get any registration renewal forms or the emissions inspection notices. As a result of that both Seahags , Gatorbaits , and my registration were suspended a couple of times. That was always fun to deal with...NOT. The saving grace was that finally after a couple of years of this crap , the post office mistakenly delivered one of our emissions notices to the P.O. box on the address who happens to be my neighbor across the street from me. He brought it over to me and there it was. The first number of my P.O. box (his actual P.O. box number) but not the other two. We took all the documentation down to the MVA. Three tellers and two supervisors later we finally got to a person that could resolve the problems. Fortunately , through all of this garbage , no fines were ever imposed. I'm sure it would have taken days at the MVA office to get any of them back if they did. I never did like dealing with those clowns and have despised them ever since.
Yikes! You don’t want to get on the wrong side of a bureaucratic monster.
I asked at the bank, why can’t they use a retinal or finger print scan in the bank. That seemed to be way over their head. If the motor vehicle administration used personal metrics, you wouldn’t need to deal with birth certificates, etc.
I indicated my consent to donate my organs. They apparently put it on the license. In the past, I never wanted anyone to be overzealous when it comes to harvesting. I got over it. Seems like the right thing to do.
Your going to donate you B3?
You should get drunk before getting photographed for your new DL. It will make you look "normal" if you get stopped by the police when going home from a gig.I have to waste time this afternoon renewing my driver's license, it's photo time. The cop in the Village People has put on a lot of weight. He must have eaten a lot of donuts over the years.Did none at Hammond wonder do you think we can save some weight here without sacrificing tone?
Never say to a cop were you that guy in the Village People?

I saw them about a year ago. The cop was the only original member that was preforming. The cop in the Village People did very well for himself. Having written many of their hits, he’s raked in millions in royalties.
