against all probability, still in possession of My Band's ™ demo tape circa 84. As in electromagnetically organized rust on a very long lenth of tape inside a housing that fits into my car's music thingy. Except no cars have come stock with a place to play that cassette in lately. For the benefit of all, these "recordings" of us are only held as improbable potential. But Neil Young reminds us rust never sleeps.

I had 2 of these (2 heads, 2 cabs);40-50 watts each. Occasionally ran both cabs offa one head. Playing a Gibson EB-3*, mudbucker only. Played-and filled-some pretty good sized halls with that rig and didn't come out of the gig saying "huh?" Nothing was mic'ed back then, either('cept vocals). Bit of a PITA to move but nothing compared to the SVT/810 Fridge I had later. I get 'close enuff' to the sound I [sorta] remember in my head with my Rumble 200c @ a whole lot less grunt. *67 Thunderbird came later, also sounded terrific

Neil Young and Crazy Horse used to play with 50-100 watt Fender amps. Perhaps things have gotten out of hand...

All you needed was an instrument, an amp, and a cord to get all the sound you desired. I wish those amps used still sold for $200-$250.

My Bandmaster head cost a whopping $25 in the mid-80s. Decent guitar amp but completely useless for bass in my world though.

I had a 50 watt Bassman with a 2 12 cab back in the mid '60's. Guitar , keys , drums and a 3 piece brass section , all un mic'd. Couldn't hear the bass worth a hoot. I was going to get a 200 watt Kustom rig with 2 15's when I wrecked the family car and had to sell it all to pay for it. No music for about three years and didn't get back into bass till about sixteen years ago. My SVT rig has been able to bury any band I have been in. My PF 500 and 2 12 rig has been asked to turn down many times. :thumbsup:

It was a fixer for sure, although the external cosmetics were nearly flawless. But I got a working Gibson Titan 4 x 6L6 head in the same deal for $35 as well, and that did work for me for bass . Years later I went to work for the same place and the yearly warehouse clearance sale still offered a lot of great deals.

I wanted a Mode T back in the mid '70s, but couldn't afford it. I had to make do with the Traynor YBA3 I had. :crying: :D I ran it into a pair of TL style cabs with SRO 15s in them. I knew a guy in high school who had one of those folded horn cabs that he ran with a Concert bass head.
