Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Early morning walks get my muscles stretched and the blood flowing. It’s that or be crippled. Clearing the mind during the walk sets me up for the day. I broke out my warmest coat, it was -12F this morning but it came with a good bite. I hope that the early cold isn’t a sign of a hard winter.

The trails were snow covered in the park this morning. Just animal footprints and some cross country ski tracks from yesterday, no people prints. Walking was harder in the fresh snow. The sidewalks on the way home were semi cleared, still a lot of ice under the snow.

No, thank you.

Reminded of an old joke

"Hey, I've never seen a golf ball like that before, what is it?" one golfer asks his friend.
It's amazing. It beeps if I hit it in the rough. It floats if I hit it in the water. It glows if it's dark.
"Wow! Where did you get it?"
I found it ....

Very nice. I like that they did a mic circle (in this case, a semi-circle). But, that works best with an omnidirectional mic, which I don't think that one was.

Real old school. The first band that I was in, we didn’t have a mixer for the mics. Vocals were mixed based on your proximity to the mix. You can see that on old performances from the Grand Ole Opry.

When you’re harmonizing, there’s nothing like watching the other vocalists mouth moving. I’ve found that it makes for tighter vocals. I think that’s why The Mamas & The Papas recorded that way, no vocal isolation.

You might be right about the mic. The one short passage with just the girls at the right singing sounded nasally and thin. This can happen with a cardioid mic pattern. They both have amazing voices and either the mic did this on the boundary or if it was an omni, it was a creative decision when mixing.

OK, then try to imagine sitting over a bowl of boiling water with Vick's in it and a towel over your head :)!

Did that too. The enema is the most feared and loathed childhood medical intervention I can personally recall. Strike that. There is one worse and I got it. Repeatedly. um.

Had measles, mumps, chicken pox. Vaccinated for polio.
