No signs of a struggle....No doubt anything in the way of drugs that were hanging around were 'disappeared' before the police turned up....so...

Suicide seems the most likely to me but hey.....We all love a good conspiracy theory, don't we?.....:D

The controversy will never end.

It was Brian’s band from day one. Eventually he got pushed out. It must have been hard on him.

Yeah...torture....
It ceased to be Brian's band from the very moment that Loog-Oldham locked Mick and Keith in a room and 'strongly suggested' that they write some some songs.....

Brian's exclusion from the writing team was the beginning of the end for him....:(

McCartney had a song, Lennon worked with him to finish off I Wanna Be Your Man. They showed Mick and Keith how easy it was to write a song and make their own publishing money. So the Beatles made some money off the Stones.

'Drummer Kenny Buttrey set up his bass drum on two hard-back chairs and played them using a timpani mallet.' :ninja:

"STONE HIM!"

That’s really old school. Kick drums used as floor toms sound great.

I saw Spirit in Seattle at the Eagles Auditorium. I believe it was 1971. I wasn't even legal drinking age. My late brother and I bought tickets to the concert and sat down around the middle and next to the middle aisle. Shortly after that I got poked by a couple guys behind us that looked like two of the three ZZTop band. They whispered if we wanted some mushrooms. I asked, what do they do? He said, 'they make you drunk.'

Well brother Tom and I were game. We paid $12 and got two servings. We ate them and by the time the show started, we were pretty high. They had bought the mushrooms from a tribe in the Southwest. I got really scared and paranoid. Every time Ed hit a cymbal it seemed to "tickle" me an I nearly fell down laughing.

After the show Tom and I headed for some restaurant for a sandwich and I wigged out. We ended up in the Greyhound station and almost got arrested because I was acting so weird and there was an off duty cop doing security. Tom explained that I was on medication. We were clean cut looking students so he allowed us to leave. Needless to say I've never done anything like that again! I remember Ed Cassidy was an awesome drummer!

I got to see Spirit in a small club in Columbia, MO in '79. No fungal stimulation was necessary - excellent show! The drum set did not have any bass drums for toms, but the man can play...
