The cat's proper name is Thor. Not that he ever paid attention to his name. The cat knows who he is, and he has a name he calls himself that he will never tell me. Thor is 16 now. It looked to me like the summer of 19 was his last. Now not so certain. Thor is senile. He will stop eating and ask me for something to eat. He will ask to go out and forget what he wanted. He's still a killer, though.

Names are pretty important to humans, and for sure all three names, in order, with the right emphasis, means gone well beyond the point of trouble :eek:
I've had a rescued feral cat for about 3 1/2 years now(she's probably around 10[?]). Her name is Striper. She does not respond to it in any way. I kinda wonder why anyone bothers to name their cat. It'll come to you when it wants to and expect you to know what it wants, usually when you're in the middle of something important-to you.

Happy Soulful Sunday...

Pops looked old when it came out in 1971, he was only 57 at the time.

The song has some talented people behind it, no wonder why it sounds so good. It’s also haunting.

The song was written by Stax Records singer Luther Ingram and Stax house songwriter Mack Rice. Ingram, who was frustrated with the state of the world at the time, told Rice "black folk need to learn to respect themselves." Rice liked the comment so much that he built a funk groove around it, then gave the song to the Staples, who were also signed to Stax. Producer Al Bell teamed the group with the storied Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.

The song has a Beatles Abbey Road album connection, the same keyboard controller was used.

No man is an island entire of itself; every man

is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;

if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe

is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as

well as any manner of thy friends or of thine

own were; any man's death diminishes me,

because I am involved in mankind.

And therefore never send to know for whom

the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Cheered me up no end!....:crying:.....:D....

I parry your thrust with something a little lighter....

I must go down to the sea again,
to the lonely sea and the sky;
I left my shoes and socks there -
I wonder if they're dry?
