Strange week and a half for me. Learned that a friend had passed away, also our long-time (23+ years) family physician, and my salesman where I buy my suits and dress clothes. Doesn't make me any grumpier, just sad.

Just got my new Audiokineses H1203 yesterday, playing with it today. What a tone monster! Incredible sounding. Is it odd that I'm inspired to play more/better over a new cab? Anyway, pretty amazing cab. I highly recommend to for old farts! 25 pounds of dynamite. I imagine two cabs and a 500-1,000 wattt head could cover most shows including small concerts and definitely almost all clubs. Sorry about the rant, kind of excited here! 
It seems that everyone is dying lately! George Martin, Nancy Reagan and now Keith Emerson at the age of 71! It surely is hammering my mortality home in a big way. Still as my lady’s Nana used to say: “People die at sea!”. 
The problem with living longer is the more death you see. Live for today my friend!

And stay thirsty, my friends...to quote Jonathan Goldsmith. We're even losing him (sort of). At some point either on his way to Mars or once he gets there, he will run out of oxygen. So sad. I hope they load up his capsule with enough Dos Equis. Better to run out of oxygen before running out of beer, rather than the other way around. At least on a one-way trip to Mars.

I'm an unapolagetic animal lover (especially my family primates)! Right now, the crawfish fields are alive with magic: wasps, snakes, carpenter bees (fighting the real stinger flyers), the wonderful mosquito, lizards, tree frogs, etc. The robins and black birds have seemingly come and went after the recent wild rain.
Marmaduke has his nose to the ground and his tail wagging in the air. My tomatoes and bell pepper seedlings will be read to go into ground in about two weeks. Looking like our 5 week Spring has started early. We hit 82 degrees today; wish I'd started my seeds a month earlier.
Oh, have mercy mighty Summer Heat, the devil destroyer of full set vine ripened 'mators!

Well yesterday I went in for an Angiogram and possible stent. Came out with no stent and a referral for a triple bypass. I’m even more grumpy that usual today. Especially as I have to go right down town tp the only hospital where bypass surgery is done. Where ever you live in the Greater Toronto Area if you need a bypass St Michael’s is where you go. Similarly if it’s Angioplasty you have to go to Centenary. one of the guys in the waiting room came from the opposite side of the City, west. He does not own a car. it took him four hours to get here at the east end of the city. He was told to get here by 6:15AM. He was late - very late! Public Transit doesn’t start that early.
Here, in Canada’s largest city, we have a fine subway system. From Yonge and Bloor, about centre, you can go south as far as the city goes, it’s Lake Ontario after that. Going west again as far as the city limits. North again to the limit though there are plans to take it much further north. to the east it stops at Kennedy Road which is not even half way though the Scarborough area where I live. We did have a toy train that went as far as McCowen but it’s long past it’s due date. The city limit in the east is Port Union Road. It’s a long way away from McCowan. The problem I have is that we in the east paid exactly the same for the subway as any other area. We just didn’t get ANY of the benefits!!
Shoot!!! Now I’m yet more grumpy!

I dyslexia'd that and read Cemetary! Had to read it three times before I got it right.
My uncle went to Mayo clinic for some work no one else can do here. He had flow through his aorta the size of a pencil. They fixed that and rebuilt his heart with cow parts. They said his heart won't bother him for at least ten years. A moth later he walked a mile. I think he's early in his 90's.
Paul let us know when you go in. We'll be pulling for the best outcome.

Best wishes your way Paul! We have little choice here, Air or ground to Las Vegas or Phoenix 250-300 miles away. Unless you take a chance on the pre morgue (that is what we call our hospital here), but they won't do heart surgery generally.

I was thinking about things that get my goat, in preparation for requesting a number in the GOF club. But now I realize that I have absolutely nothing to be grumpy about!
But, dang it, that don't stop me from getting P.O.'d whenever one of the myriad modern idiocies strike. Before retirement I could move on by getting back to work on something else. Now I dwell on it too much. But don't get me started!
So, yeah,, gimme a number, will ya?

Sure Sonny, did I ever tell you about the day I went in and put a brand new sunburst P bass with case on layaway for 250 bucks? And they all were made here in the good old USA back then damn it!

How about the story of when I went to the surplus sale back in the (probably) early 1980's down in either Corona of Fullerton, Fender was selling off parts by the pound, including 55 gallon drums full of transformers, parts stuffed terminal boards, etc. I also watched as a pile of Rhodes Chroma keyboards got smashed up by a forklift as there was no be no more Rhodes Chromas. The whole day was pretty mind blowing actually.
