Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Okay. Now I've been grumpy and sad all week. My grown-up son decided to go out side-stepping his marriage and he's leaving my granddaughters behind. What kind of behavior is that? It's OK if I and my wife lose sleep over something like this, but I don't think he realizes the havoc he is raising in his immediate circles. The girls have a support network, all right but they need a proper daddy for many years to come (3 and 0.5 years old now).

This week what makes me grumpy is some young fella complaining about.... PRACTICING!!!!! Poor thing, he's lost his will to PRACTICE!
I'm sure we all have a "I remember" story. Mine is I spent many many hours WHILE holding on to a full time job learning how to play music. That's AFTER all the gigs I did in high school!
I feel like this latest generation is in a lot of trouble. I'm worried about their ability to be persistent, and to their very very real disconnect with the world. It seems they all walk around with a cell phone glued to their hand and if they laid it down for more than 10 minutes they're p*ss themselves! God help us old farts when they take over!

Oh, one last thing... does anyone forget important things for a while? Like last night, I forgot John Entwhistle's name THE WHOLE EVENING! Thank God I remembered it today!

Dorothy and I have always said that the biggest mistake we made in our family planning was to have me spayed AFTER our two kids came along!!

That's the trouble with kids. By the time you see how they're gonna turn out, they're too old to sell to a research lab. ;)

Oh yeah, it happens more than I'd like. Just last night there was something I was trying to remember.

I think it was last night...

maybe it was Thursday night, I'm not sure

Here's something I just found on the old inter webs regarding insurance coverage in this country. If it applies to you it might be worth a try. I can't vouch for the effectiveness of it however.

I'm lucky or unlucky enough not to have children. My sister's grown kids are enough for my less than fatherly advice. I'm from the USA South; so, I usually start by threatening the male with an ass kicking. It gets his attention at least. Then I try talking sense and future and where is this headed… not a good place, etc. It rarely works, but gets some of the grump out of my system. Then I swear off humanity as a lost cause of egomaniacs and convince myself it isn't my fault.
fnord!

Bookmarking that one. Just got my two lowest spinal disc whittled on, I can tell you I was a grumpy sumbeach when I came to. If that wasn't bad enough for this old fart I have to go 4-6 weeks without playing.

I should have gotten a number long ago, B-string you still keeping up with em or did you did you forget where you put the list?

Hail and greetings from TX! I'm at 50, pretty happy most of the time but my girlfriend says I am as grumpy as they come -actually in her phone she has me listed as "Moody Gardens". What is the GOF number up to?
LET HER RIP!!

Been busy with repairs and a couple fill-ins. Capped today off with bad news on our lead guitarist.

I’m extra grumpy today! I had a subwoofer die on me so I ordered a new module from MCM. In the meantime I removed the driver and put it away for safe keeping, pulled the amp module and recycled it.

New module arrived and was installed. Went to get the driver and couldn’t find it! I searched high and low. Opened every 10” speaker cardboard box. Found a few drivers I had forgotten I had. RCF, Beyma, EV, Sica and a bunch more. Not one driver that would fit into the routing of the subwoofer box. I did find one driver with a rubber surround and a massive magnet that I could barely lift. I might just plop that one into the subwoofer.

I really wish I had a memory!!!! :rollno:
