Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

My GF/wife/SO whatever, just got a full knee replacement. So I spent the last 7+ wks as chief gofer, chef, administrative asst., comrade, servent, etc. she is tougher than I am and just went back to work as an EE designer for Daimler. She's on her feet a lot interfacing with the mfg. plant and comes home pretty beat up. I immediately go into serve mode. As in pouring cocktails cooking dinner and generally doing everything I can do to ease her recovery.
I have my own issues but it's amazing how great she's doing with only 2 months out from surgery. So I am reminded every day to suck up my own pain as she is the main breadwinner now. I'm so thankful I got medical for the first time in 8 yrs. at least now I'm catching up on things I've put off for too long. Oh yea it's an amp thread....whaaaaaa, ok I'd like to sell my 45 lb. Neo cabs for 35 lb. ones. There still on point. Hahaha

Yes, "a first world problem" is always better than a 3rd/real world problem. Makes one appreciate home. Getting to the countryside is always the best option. Never been to Africa, though: what did you see in the Ethiopian countryside? I imagine a little more tame than a safari hunt?

Fnord, we went for two and a half days' hike in the mesa-like mountains in North Ethiopia, altitude 4000 m. My fingers were turning blue, as did my lips. Only slight "red terror" gut problems. Slept ina tent, the fleas bit but I didn't itch unlike my wife and daughter (who also had bed lice in a hotel we stayed). Then they lugged us a day's ride over to see about a dozen "rock-hewn" churches. I'd think a sensible thing would be to quarry the stone and build upwards, but noooo, they did it by hacking at the rock until it revealed a buried church in the basalt-scoria rock (softer than basalt). Then, topping off a few museum visits in Addis and we flew home. I saw Lucy... and Haile Selassie's preserved bedroom.
