The doctor I saw today said she never heard When I'm 64. The surgeon I saw Monday and I agreed to a February 26 date for the procedure. And greatly relieved to know there is no stay for rehab. I will be of reduced mobility for 6 weeks plus.
The doctor you saw today is way too young to be trustworthy!

As to the reduced mobility, think of it as a staycation.

I spy with my little eye

a record brush

Also had some sort of record brush that lived in a brown box. Squirt fluid on the leading edge from a tiny red bottle, is what I recall. The brush had "one way" bristles, and seem to recall the brush was made with a hole to store the bottle.

Jettisoned all the classical collection circa 81 and no real clue how I held on to it that long. Operas and such took up a lot of room. Comes a point in life when it feels best to be free of all my accumulated baggage. Couple odd things I miss just to have again. The old stereo system and non-classical records are right up there.

Always love B&O designs. These days it's possible to outfit your shiny ride with a B&O factory-equipped stereo.

Any chance you are talking about this record cleaner?

BTW, Happy Birthday!

Even with his car's starter out of commission from the same surgical procedure, Mr. Slate would still make Fred Flintstone come in for work. Fred just wouldn't be so athletic sliding down his brontosaurus at the 5 o'clock whistle.

And do we know anyone who really gets off at 5? Do I really want my great life's regret to wish I'd worked more hours? :help:

BTW, Happy Birthday!

My word, that's exactly it.

Yes it is a ritual to play a record properly. There were even "gentler" aftermarket record sleeves to replace the paper sleeves. Very annoying to have a record with a missing inner paper sleeve. IIRC some of the inner sleeves had artwork.

One bookmark I have points me to a jeweler who makes searrings of 45 rpm record inserts in sterling. At about $75, last I looked, not at the top of my list but still on my list.

Odin just reminded me how all standard poodles enjoy oil cured olives, and feta, and especially enjoy pâté on toast points.

My surgeon was not aware I am able to play bass seated. Also assured her I'm able to tap my left foot. So now I'm putting another foot forward.

And of course - @Fat Freddy - there is dessert. :smug: We are not uncivilized.
